This roadtrip is turning into a nightmare. I was hoping it would be a good chance for the youngsters to step up and play some good basketball. I guess I was wrong. It is painful to watch not only because the games are on so late but also because I just can't stand seeing them lose like that.

I think when you are surrounded by two players and you see another one coming you should pass. I think it is not a good idea to actually try a spinning move while you are surrounded by 3 players trying to stop you.

What a great ballgame.
I just got home from the Garden and I am just absolutely hyped. Tonight was a special night in many ways and I just enjoyed every minute of it.

What an amazing first quarter right? I was a little surprised about the starting line up but it seemed to work out just fine.
And the most amazing thing is: THE OLD TONY ALLEN IS BACK!! The Tony Allen we all saw at the end of last season. HE HAS RETURNED!!! He jumped. He dribbled ( and did NOT lose the ball) He dunked..oh how beautifully he dunked.

He made me jump up so many times. So did Big Al!!! He had yet another amazing game. Once the Nuggets had figured out how amazing our Big guy really was they started double teaming him and suddenly the game got really close.

The Celtics won! The crowd was proud. I was proud. People were excited. Once the crazy Melo groupies stopped screaming I could actually hear people say: "That was the best game I have ever been to." Well, I wouldn't go THAT far and obviously those people haven't been to many games in their lives but the truth is, it was fun to watch and the Celtics played well. I won't even mention how the refs ruined an amazing finish for the Celtics. The crowd was on fire we were winning but then it just got nasty...but let's not talk about that right now.

I WAS ON THE JUMBOTRON, ON CELTICSVISION FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER TONIGHT...EVER IN EVER.
Alright, you could only see my face in the corner but hey, I made it.
Another thing that made me smile was the SEAT UPGRADE of the night. At every Celtics game a lucky member of the audience gets better seats. Tonight 2 of the former Buckets/Perkolators were chosen. I actually jumped up when I saw them on the screen. It brought up good old memories. Lodge 6 is not the same without the guys but I am glad to see some of them still make it to the Garden.

We seriously won 4 in a row. 4 in a row can you believe it?? Wohooo!!!

Ask the Celtics a question cracked me up tonight..Who is the best dressed Celtic?? I was laughing so hard about the answers the guys gave.

Carmelo Anthony really impressed me tonight. He is not only an amazing player and his fade away shot is just beautiful but he also seems to be a good team player and tries to be a good leader to his team. It also looked like he and Pierce enjoyed playing against each other. It was fun to watch!! I LOVED IT!

I am glad so many people show up to the games. I really hope the Garden will never be as empty as the Sixers arena was the other night. That was a depressing sight.

I guess my CELTICS FREE LIFE aka WORK has been taking over too much lately. I really must have missed something.. WHERE OH WHERE IS KENDRICK?????

Boy, did we need this win!!!

I really needed this win. Rivers needed this win. The players definitely needed this win.
I have to admit I have been ignoring the Celtics a little bit. I just couldn't stand seeing them lose anymore.
Tonight however, I decided to give them another chance and watched the game. It almost made me sick to see them down by 20. I couldn't take it much longer and didn't really watch the game anymore.
I actually couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Paul's buzzer shot. It seriously took me about a minute to realize we had actually won the game.

Oh yes, we all needed that win and we sure do need another one!!!

December 1st: Toronto Raptors

I successfully forgot about Wednesday night's disaster and was ready to move on.

Another night, new game, new chance to win.
Pretty much ever Celtics player had a new haircut tonight. One would think shorter hair would make you run faster and maybe it would help you to finally win games and impress fans. Well, truth is, getting a haircut doesn't improve your game at all.

Celtics lose again..how frustrating.
WHO IS TO BLAME??? The barber? The coach? The players? Chris Bosh?? The unbelievably loud Toronto crowd? The weather?

Oh I just don't know anymore.

Let me tell you a story...

A long time ago there was a very prestigious and successful team. Every day they brought joy and excitement to millions of people all over the world. Even when the success started to fate the team's name managed to live on. For years people have been telling each other about the glory days of this team now.

One day the almighty ruler Danny Ainge decided to bring back those glory days and to become the number one team in the country again. He had to come up with a plan. His plan was to support his First knight Paul Pierce with rather inexperienced knights in order to make them the best team of knights that ever existed.

His plan wasn't too bad. He sent out his scouts to gather talented knights. He found them. He found fast ones. He found tall ones. He found aggressive ones.

They all knew their job was to support Paul "the first knight" Pierce.
Danny Ainge decided to let Doc Rivers be the leader. "Doc, guide them." Danny said.

Along the way something went wrong.
Doc Rivers somehow forgot to tell those young knights were their positions were.
The young ones were confused.
"Am I supposed to be the powerforward? Am I supposed to be the center? Am I supposed to be the pointguard? WHAT AM I???"

Doc Rivers just couldn't decide on who should play which part in this team. All he knew was Pierce is our main man. He knows his role. So Rivers started to experimenting.
"Let's try this lineup"
(two seconds later )
"Oh no wait..let's change it."
(three seconds later)
"No wait, this could work out."
(one second later)
"Okay I guess it's not working out either. Just let Pierce handle things."

Pierce managed to save the confused team several times. He somehow managed to lead his team to victory.

But what happened to the young knights? Young kids who went on a mission to become a prestigious team again but somehow got lost along the way. They ended up in an identity crisis. They weren't sure about themselves anymore. They didn't know their role and slowly all their talent vanished because they were too busy adjusting to the new role they were given every night.

What a sad story..
Fact is I don't care what happened on Friday and I definitely won't mention it ever again. No seriously I won't ever talk about how Curry destroyed us and how at some point in the third quarter I was starting to get dizzy from all the changing of the lineup. Fact is I am glad Pierce and the team managed to come back last night after tailing by 15 points. I am glad the kept Redd in line and I am glad they won.
But seriously, all this doesn't even matter to me right now.

All that matters is WE HAVE TO BEAT THE NETS ON WEDNESDAY!! We just have to..

3 in a row!!!!!!

I am very excited. We won again.The team finally managed to win three in a row. To celebrate this special event I want to give my friend Melissa the chance to write today's entry.

Well,I have to admit that I'm SO excited that the C's have FINALLY found a way to win 3 in a row and I even have to go further and admit something else..Last night,while I was watching them battle it out w/the Knicks,I said to myself,if they can win this,it means they will have won 3 in a row (which I was beginning to doubt they could even win 2 in a row )...But,THEY DID IT...Anyway,I "promised " myself that IF they could win this one,I would treat myself to a "Blizzard " from DQ...Well....By the time the game was over,I started to watch the Clippers/76'ers game and I forgot about going to DQ.....I guess I was just so excited about the C's that DQ didn't matter !!---Anyway,I HOPE that the C's can keep it up but I DO get nervous when they're up by SO many points because they tend to "lose it".(Think Cavs game last weekend when they blew a 25 pt.lead )...That's why I was starting to stress last night !!---Well,next week looks like a "fairly" easy schedule..I believe they have Charlotte on Weds.and then "Starbury's " crew comes into the Garden on Friday and then Milwaukee on Saturday--I wish I could be there w/ my "C's Pal " Dana !!--I don't think the Garden would ever be the same---LOL !!---BTW Dana,Don't forget about what you promised over the summer about going to Vegas NEXT July !!--I'm gonna hold you to that :) :) GO CELTICS-Let's try to make this 4 in a row....I would say 5 in a row but I don't want to push my luck !!

I am just as excited as Melissa is. I didn't treat myself with a Blizzard but I sure did a little victory dance in my living room. It sure feels good to win but being a Celtics Fan you know it could all be over again in a heartbeat and pretty soon we could be screaming for Doc to finally leave again. I am just going to enjoy the moment. Go Celtics!

Oh how sweet it feels to finally win.
I've been kind of busy all week and missed Wednesday night's win because I had to work. Of course I was very excited to finally experience a big win for the Celtics.

Tonight was very crazy for me though.
I had to work till six and because of ticket problems I had to rush to the Garden to buy a ticket otherwise I wouldn't have been able to go to the game.
I was surprised to hear that lodge tickets were on sale tonight. I ended up paying $30 for a $60 seat. It is not even half way into the season and the tickets are already on sale. Go figure.

I ended up sitting in Lodge 5 and let me tell you, Lodge 5 definitely is the loudest section in the house. It must be something about the acoustic there. It is unbelievably loud there. Sitting behind me a group of guys analyzing every move the players made and they were talking so loud I bet even Doc Rivers heard them and he was on the other side of the building.

The game finally started and as usual I was very excited. The crowd was pretty good. I saw lots of signs and painted faces. The first half was pretty good and both teams managed to keep the game close. I really enjoyed watching the game.

By the 3rd quarter the guys behind me were suddenly talking about stocks and business in Columbia and they missed Powe's sweet dunk. He was flying to the basket.

I was on my feet but quickly sat down when he got his 5th foul immediately after that.
The guys behind me where suddenly talking about relationships and who cheated and who and also missed Pierce being on fire. He finally seemed to be playing like an Allstar again. I loved it and so did the crowd.
The 4th quarter was even better. Hustle plays by Scalabrine, Delonte finally found his shot again and the most amazing play with 5:54 left to play..pass by Rondo, West, Allen BANG into the basket. How sweet!!! Tony Allen played a lot better too. I was pleased.

What a good win. We definitely needed that one. I definitely needed it. Oh winning feels so good!

Notes:
*Has anyone noticed Scalabrines weird warm up move before right before they announce the starting line up? He does it before every game. Make sure you pay attention to Scalabrine next time. You sure will laugh.

* pierces "IT'S THE 4TH QUARTER..GET ON YOUR FEET" speech is finally back. THANK YOU
* The Garden is just not the same without the Buckets. WHERE OH WHERE ARE THE BUCKETS SITTING THESE DAYS????

* I don't like the jumbotron too much. The screen is huge but the writing is tiny. The score is too small and I can't read who scored how many points. Is it just me? Am I getting old and need glasses?

How can you give up a 25 point lead?? It's easy, especially if you are a Celtics player.
I AM STARTING TO LOSE MY MIND!!!
They should have won tonight but what did the Celtics do? They slowed down in the second half trying to integrate Pierce into the game. They suddenly changed the way they were playing in the first half which obviously didn't work out at all. Lebron however got better and better towards the end of the game.
I am just frustrated right now.
Is this really happening?
Why wasn't Pierce more like Lebron tonight? Why didn't the last shot make it INTO the basket? Why? Why? Why?

I can't wait to hear what Doc and Danny Ainge have to say about this game.

November 10th: Utah Jazz

I had a good feeling about tonight's game. I was really optimistic. I left the house around seven saying: this will be a good game, I can feel it.

I still felt the same when I got to the Garden. The crowd was in a pretty good mood. I was surrounded by people who had a blast. They had bought tons of souvenirs. They were dressed up and just enjoyed being there. Among those dressed up Celtics fans was one lonely Jazz fan wearing a Kirilenko jersey. I couldn't stop starring at him because he totally looked like Kirilenko himself.

At that point I didn't know that this lonely Jazz fan would annoy me like crazy at the end of the game.

The first quarter was not bad actually. The Celtics managed to finally reduce the amount of turnovers. They managed to not get into foul trouble and they just kept the game close. I was pretty optimistic. But then something happened in the third quarter, something I will call the European invasion. The European players on the Jazz ( and Boozer who is not European but I still have to mention him ) just shot the ball from pretty much everywhere and the funny thing was the ball ALWAYS made it INTO the basket. They were hitting the shots like there was no tomorrow. Okur for three..and for three..and for three. The Celtics??? Well they didn't really score and that is why the Jazz were suddenly leading by 17.
The game however got really exciting again in the fourth quarter and after some amazing plays by Rondo, Pierce and West everyone in the Garden was on their feet. IT WAS SO UNBELIEVABLY LOUD!!!! The Celtics had a shot. They had a chance to tie or even win this game but if you can't shoot the ball INTO the basket and can't make the free throws then you can't win the game either.
They lost!!!!
Now what????

They actually played well tonight. I really enjoyed the game and saw a lot of positive things tonight. I also saw one thing I don't want to see anymore right now.
TONY ALLEN??? Oh come on Doc!! His attempt to dunk the ball at the end of the third not only made me laugh out loud but also made me yell: GOSH, HE SHOULDN'T BE PLAYING. And when Delonte finally replaced Allen I caught myself yelling: ABOUT F****** time. But why oh why would you want to bring Allen back into the game at the end of the fourth?? WHY???
It will be a very long season. We need to make the easy baskets and the free throws. Maybe we should start looking for European players.

note:
*Whoever picks the songs for the Dance team should be fired!! The songs are horrible. Bad quality and well the Dance team still annoys me.

I am having a tough time writing about the game.
Here are just some thoughts:

* not even Wally's World could save us last night
* I am seriously worried about Delonte and how his talent is going down the drain. I can see him being traded and suddenly playing like a god on the other team
* Tony Allen??? Oh come on.
* 23 turnovers??? 23??? Of course you can win the game like that
* this team absolutely has no chemistry

I saw some improvement. Hopefully we'll finally see a win on Wednesday.

The fact that the Celtics Dance team made an appearance at the Fox 25 morning show today should have been the sign for me that this day would end up in a disaster.
I still ended up going to the game though. I still ended up believing the team might prove everyone wrong and might actually win this game. I was still convinced the team might give us a good win after disappointing us in the first game.

The Garden was packed which isn't unusual for a Friday night game. They introduced the Pistons. Then the lights went out and they started this whole, crazy show : SPEAKER CONTROL...CHECK CHECK!!! I was thinking: "Wow they came up with a really cool, new way to introduce the starting line up." I was kind of impressed. I was getting ready to cheer for my players when I realized that this whole show was actually for the dancers???? Our new Celtics Dance Team. After only one game I can honestly say they already annoy me to a degree I can't even describe. I would rather watch the Lil' Phunk Dance team over and over again than those girls.( it seemed like there were millions of them. HELP! )
It just felt wrong and I am not looking forward to having to deal with them every single game.

Which brings to the game.
In the first quarter the Pistons just couldn't make the basket. I actually caught myself thinking: "Wow they are human, this is their worst shooting night ever, we can actually beat them."
I was obviously wrong.
It's only the second game of the season but it is already extremely painful to watch the games.

Is it just me or is Telfair just horrible??? Does he even know how to play defense?
Is it just me or is Perkins just not improving his game at all?
Is it just me or did Delonte forget how to shoot the ball? I mean come one Delonte. I used to think you can make the basket from a million miles away.
Am I the only person thinking GERALD GREEN SHOULD BE PLAYING INSTEAD OF TONY-I DRIBBLE AND LOSE THE BALL-ALLEN? Poor Gerald. His talent and self conscious are destroyed by a man who obviously doesn't realize that Rondo should be starting instead of our so called wonder child Bassy.

I don't even know what to say.
This was supposed to be a good season for me. I now live 2 minutes away from the Garden, I have season tickets...everything should be GREAT. I should be the happiest girl. What did I get??? Annoying Celtics Dancers and one loss after the other.
At least we have a new, improved jumbotron so we can watch all that misery in HD.

Opening Night or how the Celtics give up the game to a man called CHRIS PAUL

Today was supposed to be a special day in many ways.
Somehow pretty much everything went wrong and today turned out to be not special at all.

We were supposed to win this for Red. The fans, young or old, should have walked home happy and proud to be a Celtics fan. We all should have hopes to make it to the playoffs right now.

What I saw tonight doesn't come close to anything we all were expecting.
What the hell happenend? How could the team let us down like that? How could this night end up to be a Chris Paul show? Can't anyone shoot free throws anymore? What happened to pushing the tempo? Was any Celtics player actually moving in the first quarter? Did Wally have a bad day because words can't even explain how bad he was in the first quarter? Why does Tony Allen get so many minutes? Why, why, Why?

So many questions and no answers.
The game was horrible. The team didn't play as a unit. Chris Paul basically killed us.

I don't even know what to say about the game right now.
I don't know who to blame right now either.
I am just very disappointed and I don't really feel like saying anything positive about the game. I do have to point out however that Al Jefferson was the only good thing to come out of this horrible game...then he fouled out.

It was only the first game but shouldn't we have started the season with a BANG???

Red Auerbach

Red Auerbach, perhaps the greatest coach in the history of the NBA, has died at 89. Auerbach led the Celtics to eight straight titles from 1959-66 and won nine overall.
I wasn't around to witness it but I still feel extremely proud about what Auerbach achieved for the Celtics, the city of Boston and for basketball in general.
A great man has died.
The team should turn the 2006-2007 season into a "Let's win it for Red" season.
Rest in Peace Red Auerbach.

Friday March 31st : Denver Nuggets VS..Minnesota T'Wolves--

I have been a fan of Ricky Davis (and so has my teenage daughter ) since he was a C........SO.......I bought GREAT seats for this game so we could be "close" to see Ricky (as well as the "other " EX-C'S )-----We were literally 4 rows back from the visitors bench-------We had made a sign ..One side said "We love Ricky D" and the other side said "We love Marcus B. "--cuz my daughter liked him ever since he said "Hi" to her last summer in Vegas when we went there for Summer League (by the way my fellow C's fanatic,I HOPE you can join us there this summer )--It would be SOOOOO much fun !!---Okay,back to the game...So.we got to the PepsiCenter EXTRA early just so we could see them warm up....When we saw Ricky,we immediately yelled his name and showed him the sign,he DID acknowledge it and smiled so needless to say,we were EXCITED---Then when my daughter saw Marcus B.we turned the sign around but we don't know if he saw it and just "ignored " it or what but he didn't even look our way--BOO-HOO !!!-----So then,as the game started we were actually rooting AGAINST my "other " team the Nuggets as we thought if the T'Wolves were to win,my daughter would have had a better chance of "scoring" a pic.w/ Ricky as he "might" be in a good mood........So,every time a "former" Celtic got a basket-YES,EVEN MARK A.K.A "DUMBO" EARS BLOUNT got baskets,we would cheer--At the end of 1/2 time,I believe the WOLVES were behind by one pt....My daughter was getting very nervous about approaching Ricky and asking for a pic.w/ him ----So she decided to wait until the beginning of the 3rd when the players decent onto the court for their warmups.............She went down to their tunnel and kept looking back at me..I honest to God thought she was gonna get so nervous that she would change her mind.....Then....Ricky was one of the last to come back onto the court...I saw this...She yelled "Ricky,can I please take my picture w/ you "...He then looked at her like she was from a foreign country and just kept walking.........Needless to say,she was HEARTBROKEN like a normal 16 yr.old---She came back to her seat and I swear to God,she had tears in her little eyeballs....I told her it's NO big deal and that it was just too bad he did that....She didn't listen to me-SURPRISE SURPRISE--Then she said "I HATE BASKETBALL " now...I told her NOT to let one "bad apple" spoil the bunch but she wouldn't have it--OH WELL !!------I was bummed too because that would have been SOOOO AWESOME to show my friend Dana who ALSO loves Ricky D---Heck,I even went out of my way to wear the Ricky D. "baller band " that Dana was kind enough to send me :)

We won because we ( Dana ) loves Chicago

Of course I am very excited that my team won.
Of course I am very excited that we kicked Iverson's ass.
Most of all however, I am excited because we won for the Bulls.

Why am I so excited for another team? Why do I get excited to see the Bulls in the Playoffs instead of the Celtics?

Back in 1997 I left Germany to go to the USA for the first time ever. It was also the first time I left Germany to be honest. From a tiny village in Germany I moved to the Windy City Chicago. I had the best time ever. As you can all remember 1997/1998 was the time of Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Tony Kukoc, Steve Kerr, Dennis Rodman and the Bulls' 6th championship. I should probably point out that my hostdad was also a Chicago Bulls season ticket holder, which made this experience even more exciting.
I remember every game. I remember how I often met some of the players. I still exactly remember how the team celebrated and the entire city was excited.

The current Bulls team is different of course. I really do like the way they play though. I get all sentimental and I hope they really get a chance to play in the playoffs.

So, we won for the Bulls tonight.
It was a good win.
I am proud. Proud of my team. Proud of the young kids.
I am proud. Proud of the Bulls.

Of course I am super jealous too BUT!!!
We will make it next year. I am sure we will.

Wednesday, April 5th: Washington Wizards

My first Celtics game as a 27 year old girl. So of course everything was a little different this time.

The game started at 7 not at 7:30 and I am glad I realized in the afternoon otherwise I would have been too late.

It was still bright out when I arrived at the Garden which absolutely confused me for a second.

Baseball season started last weekend so the few people who actually cared about the Celtics before are now probably busy rooting for the Red Sox. ( plus it will now be even more difficult to find a bar that shows the Celtics games booo )

Everything seemed to be different.
Well I guess nothing had really changed.
The Celtics lost.
Why?
Because of him

He was just unbelievable last night. Or did he just look soo good because our players didn't????

Delonte just could not keep up with Gilbert. Orien tried and did a good job but then somehow ended up on the bench again.
I just don't really know what to say about the game or the team in general right now.
The Celtics just aren't playing very well at the moment.
There is Lafrentz who obviously is too busy complaining about the coach instead of taking the ball to the hoop.
There is Gomes...well I don't know what happened. After all the hype about him things are rather quiet now.
There is Perkins. I love him but like Perkolator Joe said last night, he seems to be pressured by the fact that an entire section is cheering for him now. He hasn't really done much lately.( even though I liked his dunk last night )
Then there is Gerald. Everyone is excited about him getting more minutes. I have to admit I am still amazed by his windmill dunk and whenever I get the chance I watch it over and over and over and over again but at the end of the day he is still very young and ..well he can't win the games all by himself.
Then there is Pierce. He is still being Pierce but for some reason we only get to see him with a towel wrapped around his head sitting on the bench most of the time lately. I know, I know..we are trying to give the young guys the opportunity to learn more about the game but still. I am not too excited about the way games are "coached" right now.

There is only one hope right now...only one thing I am looking forward to ( and I am not talking about the beer or the horrible pretzels )

Tony! Tony! Tony!
He is becoming so much better every single game. At the beginning of the season I was so nervous and covered my eyes whenever he touched the ball. Now I am actually screaming: GIVE IT TO TONY at least 5 times a game. He has impressed me a lot lately.

Gosh!!! Come on. I know the season is almost over and well we obviously won't make it to the Playoffs anymore but I still want to enjoy the games. All of us, the fans, the people watching all your games want to see some wins. We want to be proud of our team.

A night out with the Celtics

Since my team has a hard time winning games at the moment I decided to write about something more entertaining than the Celtics games.

Here is what happened to me Thursday night.

Paul Pierce has been promoting his All Star Poker for quite a while now. People either don't like Poker or they don't like Paul Pierce or they just don't have any money but The Truth wasn't able to convince enough All Stars to play Poker. He decided to cancel the event.
So of course I was a little upset but insider told me that the players would still come to the club. So guess where I was Thursday night??? The club of course. I was surrounded by girls who were wearing tiny, tiny Celtics shirts. I couldn't help but thinking: I wonder if those girls have ever been to a game at all???

I started drinking and dancing and BANG Big Al, Delonte, Tony Allen were sitting on stage just chilling. I started to get a little nervous and I think I almost had a heart attack when Delonte was suddenly standing next to me on the dance floor.

"Ask him to dance with you!!!!"
"Hell no I can't"
"Come on just do it!!!"
"I really can't!!!!"

Why didn't I ask him? I wasn't really brave erm I mean drunk enough yet haha.
So I just started enjoying myself. Drinking. Dancing. Being happy to be so close to the guys.
Then I see HIM!!!!!!!!!
Perkins walks in and I think I was close to my second heart attack that night.
I was really nervous now. I had it all figured out though. The way to get closer to my team is to just act cool. Act as if you don't care at all. Well...I tried that. It worked for about 30 minutes then I just couldn't help but walking up to Tony.

"Tony, I have to tell you something. Your dunk in the Lakers game was just amazing!!!"
I think he was shocked that not every girl in this room was about tiny Celtics shirts and ass shaking but really knew about the team. He started laughing and hugged me and said. Thank you so much....third heart attack!!!

I definitely needed another drink after that hug, so I went to the bar. Someone tips me on the shoulder. I turn around and see Perkins and his friend who I met at the bowling alley once. I was already very brave erm I mean drunk at that point so I immediately started joking around with Perkins' friend.

"You suck at bowling" ( he is an amazing bowler to be honest )
He laughs.
"I am just kidding but Kendrik really sucks." I whispered into his ear.
He started cracking up.
"Don't tell him though."
and I left to get another drink.

I spent the rest of the night drinking, dancing,enjoying being so close to my players. I was in heaven. Around two something it was time for little Dana to go home. On my way out I ran into Big Al. Brave as can be I take a bow in front of my hero.

"I hope your ankle gets better soon Al." I said and left.
WHAT AN AMAZING NIGHT but why the hell did I say that stupid sentence to Al??? hahaha
I had a blast and I am even more in love with the team now.
I couldn't stop thinking about how the Nuggets guys acted at the club. My Celtics are so much more down to earth. Regular guys and I am loving it!!!

Now if they'd only win a game now and then I would be the happiest girl on this planet.

Friday night.
Every sports fan in Boston was excited.
Every sports fan was looking forward to the game....NOT THE CELTICS GAME THOUGH!!!

March Madness! BC playing!!! That means the few people that would usually watch the Celtics game were busy rooting for BC. ( just like everybody else here in Boston )
Smart as I am I thought I should go to the Celtics Road Rally. I was hoping to meet people there who actually care about the team and who are just as excited as I am. Yet again I was wrong. The road rally was rather boring. Ok, ok, it was absolutely boring. Poor Robert Parish had to sit at the Harp all night long and he didn't look too excited about it. So I went over to cheer him up. I mean I went over to take a picture with him. Let me tell you something....HE IS SOOOO TALL!!!!! After meeting the Chief I decided to leave the oh so boring Road Rally and moved on to the next bar.
Well, like I said. March Madness. BC playing. I ended up watching the second half on a tiny screen among thousands of cheering BC fans. I was the only person clapping and cheering for the Celtics. People were starring at me like..WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HER?? haha

Why did we give up that lead? What happened? How the hell is it possible that no matter from where Lebron shoots the ball it somehow always finds its way into the basket? What's going on with the Celtics right now? Should I blame all the rooting BC fans?

Sad. Sad. Sad.

What a way to finish the game.

Gerald Green's dunk. Oh my god. I still can't believe he did that. That was just so amazing. It was even better than Allen's dunk in the Lakers game and his one dunk against the Raptors. Suddenly everybody is talking about Green again today. The Celtics future and so on.

It was an entertaining game last night. As soon as we kind of found a way to control the rather annoying Mike James we got into the game and shot for three..and again..and again. Scalabrine had to fill in for Al and I have to say he did a really good job. I was giving him standing ovations when he left the game.

Tony Allen is getting back in shape. He is showing some good moves. That's good.

The whole team did a good job last night but everyone...absolutely everyone will remember this game because of Green's amazing dunk!!!!!

I was kind of excited about the game. I was really looking forward to seeing Kobe. I was really thinking we could beat Kobe and his Lakers. But well, I was wrong. I don't even know what to say about this game. It was a bad, bad game. I was more busy checking out the audience than watching the game. Pierce got hurt. Kobe didn't really impress me that much. blah blah.

It was a rather boring basketball night for me. Nothing really exciting happened. Except for one thing!!!!! Tony Allen's dunk in the 4th quarter. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEW he was flying. I won't forget that dunk for a while. Sooooo nice.

Now and then even I don't have time to watch the Celtics game. I am fortunate enough though to know some people who are just as obsessed about the Celtics as I am. Melissa is one of them. She loves the Celtics and after every game I definitely can find an email from her in my inbox. I thought it's about time to ask her to write a few words about herself and the game....so here is what another female Celtics fan has to say.

It's NOT easy being a "Green" fan right about now---I am a DIEHARD basketball fan from Colorado (especially the Celts and the Nuggets )----I subscribe to NBA League Pass so that I can catch most of the C's games-that is when I'm NOT working around the clock !!---I have been a C's fan most of my "young" life as my mother is from Boston and I literally grew up following the C's so they're MY team now-And my mom still loves them as well and now my teenage daughter follows them too--So,I guess you'd call us a "Green " family-- I wasn't able to watch the Magic game this past Friday "live" as I was @ my night job but I did tape it-as I do a lot of the games------SO----I watched most of it last night---They really "should " have won this game and I think they were even up by 2 pts.at the half--AARGH !!!---As inconsistent as our C's have been,I still enjoy watching them and watching "Double P" kick some serious butt night in and night out--(except for the Memphis) game earlier in the week-ha-ha !!!--Not to mention Wally--Now,I don't care if he's not a "consistent" player-he's still EASY on the eyeballs-LOL !!--Man,if I lived in Boston,I'd make sure I'd find a way to get season tickets just so I could look at him !!!---As the C's playoff hopes fade w/ each loss,it's up to their fans to believe !!---Maybe not for this year,but for next year and each year after that....And......Paul Pierce better never leave the C's !!!---And.....Dana,I'm glad I met you,my fellow C's "fanatic"...You seem like such a fun person !!!!----

Welcome to the life of a Celtics Fan!

What the hell went wrong last night?
I am still in shock about what happened in Miami.
I seriously can't believe it and I am not even sure who to blame for this fiasco.

Thursday night. I was sitting at the Boston Billiards. After almost getting into a fight with the owner because he didn't want to put on the Celtics game I finally sat down to watch my team. Again I had a good feeling. I actually had a really good feeling about this game. I was wearing my Celtics pride baller band and I was convinced we could beat the heat.

Did you see the first half??? Oh my god. Was that really my team playing there? I was soo excited, so impressed, so speechless. They played such a good game. It was fast. They put pressure on the Heat. They played defense. They just played extremely well. I cought myself shrieking in excitement a couple of times. A few times my jaw just dropped and I thought :Oh my god that is just awesome. I looked around a couple of times and I wanted to tell people: Stop watching the College Basketball games. Look at the Celtics. Check out MY team. Wally even made the shots. In fact he was on fire last night and for the first time since the trade I really clapped and cheered for him. He should play like that every night. He was going to the basket. He was energetic. He took the shots. He was really good.

But well being a Celtics fan isn't easy these days. You learn to be careful. You learn to not get too excited. The sentence: It ain't over till it's over could be used to describe the Celtics as much as the word inconsistency has been used to describe the team.

The team gave in to speedy gonzales aka. Wade and the HUUUUUUUUUGE guy aka Shaq and the still amazingly good looking Mourning. Oh well. We lost again. That was a very tough loss. Going from pure excitement to pure disappointment is just too much for me....even if I am a Celtics fan. WE NEED A WIN AND WE NEED IT NOW!!!!

Heroes Among Us

The Heroes Among Us Award is presented to an individual or individuals who, through their unique commitment and humanitarian spirit, have made exceptional and lasting contributions to our community. At each home game, the Celtics and their fans have saluted the exemplary efforts of these citizens during a special in-game presentation on the legendary parquet floor.

Today's Hero Among Us, Scott L. has been a good member of our Celtics community for the longest time. His willingness to sit on the floor with his camera on his shoulder throughout almost every home game already qualifies him to become one of our Heroes Among Us. He is responsible for thousands and thousands of good pictures of Celtics games.

One game however changed his already tough enough life as a camera man. Trying to make Shaq look good on camera is quite a tough job. It is even more difficult to capture the quickness of Dwyane Wade. Scott used all his skills to do his job as best as possible. All he could think about was how to make all those Celtics Fans happy by providing good material for them. He was concentrating so much that he absolutely didn't see what was about to happen to him at the end of the 3rd quarter.
No one was expecting it really.
Everyone was quietly watching the game, especially me because I was sick that night, suddenly two players ( I believe it was Orien Greene and Antoine Walker ) almost killed our beloved camera man Scott.
Orien was so excited about the game that he totally forgot how to stop.

The second Scott realized he was about to be ran over...it was too late already. All he could see was two huge basketball players on top of him.

The crowd, including me, was shocked and for at least 2 seconds you could see the desperation in people's eyes.
"Is he ok?"
"Oh no. That must have hurt."
"Holy Moly poor camera man."

It really hurt Scott. His camera broke. His elbow was hurt. Did he stop shooting the game to go home and rest on the couch with a bud light in his hand? NO!!! Scott was brave enough to make it through the rest of the game. Why? Because all he cares about in life is to make all the Celtics fans happy. He therefore deserves to be today's hero among us!!!!!

I am especially grateful to call him one of my friends. He stays away from games recently. I am sure that is because of the shock and what he had to go through that night.
Scott! Get over it and get your ass to the Garden again!!!!

Once upon a time there were two young black guys Carmelo Anthony and Marcus Camby.
They really had a tough life. Their job, being a player in the NBA, now and then forced them to leave their homes behind to go on the road with the team. Being away from home can be tough and being so young they are now and then looking for some action.
On a rather warm Friday night in March the two lonely NBA players found themselves in a place called Boston. They were homesick. They were sad. They needed a change. Where do you go to have some action here in Boston? The Avalon of course. So around 2:30 on that Friday night a little girl named Dana was standing at the bar, still depressed about the fact that her team had lost to the Bucks.
"Carmelo Anthony and Marcus Camby just walked in come on."
Suddenly this little girl was standing sooo close to the two lonely NBA stars. She was a little excited but for some reason she couldn't stop thinking about telling them. YOU WILL GET YOUR ASS KICKED ON SUNDAY!!! JUST WAIT AND SEE!!! Since she is a nice girl she didn't bother those homesick players of course.

The two lonely players obviously really enjoyed the club that night. Maybe the alcohol helped them to forget about being so far from home? Maybe the half naked girls gave them warm fuzzies? Maybe they had just found the change they had been looking for for soo long. We won't ever know the reasons but they definitely did show up to the club the following night, which happened to be the night before the game against the Celtics. They partied their pain away. They ordered lots and lots of alcohol. They made sure everyone knew who they were and at 3 in the morning they made sure they had at least 20 girls going home with them.

The sad part of the story is. They probably felt like kings that night. They didn't once think about being so far from home. They totally forgot about the lonely life of an NBA star. Sunday definitely opened their eyes though. Pierce. Pierce. Pierce. Gomes. Gomes. Gomes. Celtics win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nuggets LOSE!!!!!!!!!

It's a tragic story but it's true. Life is cruel sometimes!!! What can you do!

Twice in one week I was dumped by the people who wanted to go to the game with me. Twice in one week I ended up going to the game alone. I was not too happy about that so I went to the Garden, sold my two tickets and just bought a better ticket for myself. I don't let other people ruin my Celtics games for me!! Booo @ you people haha.

I was really excited. I sat in the 3rd row right behind the basket.
I still can't even believe I got to the Garden around 6:30 already. Usually I have to run through the streets of Boston to make it to the Garden for the Anthem.

So everything was kind of different that night.
I was excited.
I had a good feeling about this game.
I was 100% sure we would win this game.

Erm...well...I don't really know what happened but this guy pretty much ruined my Celtics night for me:

He was really impressive and it seemed like no one could stop him.
We definitely should have won this one but we didn't.
So I left the Garden totally upset. Not only upset because my team lost but also because I didn't get one of those Spongebob pillows they were passing out all night!!!!!
I decided to go out and party. Who do I run in to at the Avalon???? Carmelo Anthony and Marcus Camby of the Denver Nuggets. But that's a different story...

I am very proud of myself.
I am proud because I managed to make it to the Garden on time even though I was stuck at work until 6:40pm and even though I had to take the T. Most of all I am proud for not screaming like a teenager when I saw Chris Webber. I think I might have been sighing when I saw him warming up before the game. The fact that I was sitting in the 3rd row/courtside, sooo close to the man I've admired for the longest time now, made it very tough for me. Very, very, very tough. BUT as soon as the game started I forgot about the days when I used to drool on Chris Webbers Michigan Basketball card.

Okay, okay now and then I was staring at him and I swear to god we made eyes contact at least once. haha. Okay, enough of acting like a teenager now.

I am very proud of my team!!!!!
I really enjoyed the game. Not only because the rich people behind me seemed to be big Celtics fans too ( which is kind of unusual ) but also because thanks to Ryan, Paul, Orien, Tony..basically every player ( minus Scalabrine ) the people at the Garden got to see a great game. I am so excited about the way the Celtics are playing right now. I might be a little too enthusiastic at times but this team right now wins my heart over even more. Everyone put in so much effort last night. Orien had a great game. He still makes Rookie mistakes now and then but last night I felt kind of proud for him. He put the biggest smile on my face at least 3 times. Ryan Gomes just keeps on playing one amazing game after the other and Paul. Well Paul...Paul is just being absolutely incredible right now. He did it again...I don't know what to say. I can't really find the right words to describe my excitement right now.

Did the Celtics really get 2!!! pages in the Globe today????? Wow!!!

I just love this team. I really, really do!

Notes:
Iguodala is quite annoying. Alright he made a few nice moves but he just seemed so arrogant. On court he was trying to pick a fight with Pierce, of court he was jumping up and down like a 3 year old kid whenever the sixers scored. Who won last night's game again Mr. Iguodala?? That's right!!!!

I guess Iverson is kind of fast huh?

Bames almost fell into my lap at one point. That was quite exciting!!!

Wednesday.Feb.15.Cleveland Cavaliers

Last night was an unforgettable basketball night for me and all the other people at the Garden.

I guess it really is true, Lebron sells more tickets than any other player in the NBA right now. The Garden was packed. I am serious, I looked around and I saw people EVERYWHERE. It was very exciting and I have to admit I was a little nervous.

Right now however I am not even sure if I can find the right words to describe last night.
There are sooo many things to say about this game ...where to start?? Hhmmm, let's see.

I wasn't even inside the Garden yet when I first realized that I am on my way to an amazing hoop game. I had an extra ticket for the game and I was actually looking for a scalper to sell it. For some reason I couldn't find any last night. Then I see this black homeless guy. I have seen him before a couple of times and he sometimes sells tickets and he once told me that he sometimes gets tickets from people and then sells them to get money for food or whatever. So I walk up to him and give him my ticket...He was excited...and I felt like a saint hahah.
What a nice way to kick of the night huh?

Where was I sitting??? My favourite seats..Lodge 7 Row 13..( thanks Scott ) I love those seats..buckets cheering behind me. No one ever complaining about me getting up...it takes you 30 sec to go the restroom..and well you have a great view..LOVE THOSE SEATS!!!

It was definitely a battle of two very gifted players.
The whole night was about James and Pierce.
It was so exciting seeing them getting a kick out of playing against each other.
I am usually very critical when it comes to Paul but last night he was definitely my hero. He was on fire. He was all over the place. ( okay Lebron was too but hey I don't care...YOU ARE NOT JORDAN that's all I have to say hah )

The crowd got a kick out of the game too. No one, absolutely no one was sitting down in the middle of the fourth anymore. Fans were freaking out and Paul took us to overtime. By then I was already lobster red again. Celtics games are just too much excitement for me. The fact that the beer at the Garden tastes better than the beer at Fenway Park doesn't really help to relax. I was very close to having yet another heart attack.
DOUBLE OVERTIME??? Why are you doing this to me????
It was amazing. My face was all red...I was sweating...I didn't have anymore beer BUT I couldn't help but cheering like I never cheered before.
Paul 50 points!!!! OH MY GOD!!!!!
I think I almost cried a little when he was fouled out with about a minute to go in the game. I was still convinced that we had a chance to win the game but Lebron's friends aka the referees didn't want us to win three in a row. So well...Celtics lost...It was a tough loss but I was still so happy.
Why??
Maybe because the game was finally over and I could get some fresh air?? I was soooooo red.
or maybe because I finally didn't have to see the weird old guy on Celticsvision anymore.

Come on. Everyone at the Garden was cheering and celebrating. Why oh why did the camera guy decide to only shoot this one old guy for at least 3 quarters?? I wonder how much money that old guy had to pay to get on there. Scary.

Sunday.Feb.12:Orlando Magic

Boston was covered in snow yesterday. Downtown was empty. Now and then you could see people skiing in the streets. You were out of luck if you wanted to go out for lunch yesterday because basically EVERYTHING was closed.

Everything????
Not the Garden.
Nothing keeps crazy Celtics fans from going to the game. Not even a foot of snow.
Well....okay....I guess it did keep some people from going to the Garden. There were lot's of empty seats but the atmosphere was just as good as always. So many kids had made signs. Ryan Gomes had his own little cheering section. People were having a great time.

I have to admit I was kind of upset and disappointed.
Why???
1.) It took you almost 45 minutes to get a beer last night. Almost everything was closed so of course the lines were looooooong.
2.) Section 7 was totally quiet. I think only 4 of the Brigade formerly known as buckets had made it to the game and those lucky bastards got to sit courtside!!!!
3.) I couldn't even cheer myself. Someone stole my voice!!! Give me my voice back GEEZ!!!!!
4.) Why don't I ever get a free t-shirt huh huh huh??

So without beer and buckets cheering I watched the game.
I haven't been to the Garden since I almost got kicked out because of "Daddy" so of course I was the happiest girl ever. The game itself wasn't really that exciting. So I was just sitting there enjoying the Garden, kind of relaxed till this couple sat down next to me. I couldn't help but following their conversation.
Boy: Number 4 is Ryan Gomes. He went to school with me.
Girl: wow.
Boy: I am serious. We always used to party and stuff.
Girl: cool
SILENCE!!!!
Girl: Who is number 34??

That is when I started cracking up. He did too.
Boy: I am like the super basketball fan and she has absolutely no idea about basketball.
So he told her to never ever question number 34 because he is..well..he is the team..hahah

We spent the rest of the game telling the girl everything about the Celtics and rooting for Gomes, who had another pretty good game.

I am glad they won this game..not the prettiest win but come on LEBRON WILL GET HIS ASS KICKED!!!!! hahah
Two in a row and YES I am excited.
I do feel sorry for the guy who obviously broke his leg during the halftime show. That was funny...erm..I mean..awww poor him.

It's tough...oh so tough.... that is why I decided to take a little break from all the pain. I went on a road trip. The plan was to actually clear my head from work AND all kinds of basketball action.
The plan was to go to Philadelphia be a tourist there. Go on to Washington DC be a tourist there. Go to New York to be a tourist and then head back to Boston!

I seriously tried to stay away from the NBA but...erm..well..I couldn't do it.
The fist thing I did when I came to Philly was get tickets for the Sixers game and a couple of hours later I was on my way to the Wachovia center.
Here is what I thought about this place...
It's in the middle of nowhere...you can't really take public transportation to get there--- THAT SUCKS!!!!
They have a million parking spots in front of it , I was like..WOW...LOOK AT THAT????? Not bad
I walked in and they had some choir singing right next to the entrance...Pretty impressive.
They had so many different food places and different types of beer..AWESOME!!!!!
Kids could get there face painted.
There was just so much going on and I was thinking...MAN WHY DON'T WE HAVE FUN THINGS LIKE THAT AT THE GARDEN!!!!
So of course I was totally looking forward to seeing the game.
The way the seats are arranged is just amazing.

You can see pretty much everything no matter where you are sitting. And I got even more excited. I thought..This place is just amazing!!!!!!
The game started. They were playing the Pistons. That's actually a really good game. Did the fans care though? Hell no!!!!!
It seemed like no one was even watching the game. I was totally shocked. No one cheered. No one supported the team. No one clapped really!!! NOTHING. This place was dead. The crowd didn't even get excited when the sixers had the chance to win the game. NO!!! NOTHING!!! NADA!!!! Just silence. The only person who was cheering was the granny two rows in front of me, probably a hardcore sixers fan.

SHAME ON YOU SIXERS FANS!!!!! I couldn't help but thinking. Wow compared to this place the Garden REALLY rocks. We have some loud fans let me tell you. ( I mean..seriously..no one even used the cheer sticks )
So the 76ers lost..and I was disappointed. On my way out I was booed at for being a Celtics fan. Did I care??? Hell no!!!! WE ROCK!!! YOU GUYS DON'T.

With the 76ers souvenir cup in my bag I moved on to Washington. And of course the first thing I did was I went to the MCI center to get tickets for the Wizards game.

DO THEY SERIOUSLY HAVE A BIG SCREEN OUTSIDE??? A HUGE TV SCREEN SHOWING HIGHLIGHTS OF THE LAST GAMES??? I was like WHAT????? I couldn't believe it. IS THIS REALLY WHERE THE WIZARDS ARE PLAYING??? I kept asking myself. The MCI Center is located in the middle of the city...close to Chinatown. There is absolutely NO parking availabe. They only have a valet parking service which only costs you 35 bucks for the game!!!!!!!! Ridiculous. The cheapest tickets are 45 bucks....45!!! bucks for balcony seats. That is just crazy!!!!! I started missing my Celtics more and more let me tell you. I had great seats that night though so I was kind of excited about the game. The fans were a little better than the sixers fans I have to admit but they were not even close to what's going on at the Garden. And I mean come on..WE LOSE ALL THE TIME..but still. I still can't believe how much different the fans of other teams are. ANYWAYS!!!!! The Wizards are a good team I think. A young, very talented team. Arenas...Haywood and Jameson seriously know how to play the ball so throughout the entire game they showed some amazing moves and I was close to jumping up at least 5 million times ( but of course I didn't..I only do that for my team haha ) Did the crowd freak out like the Celtics fans do??? Erm..not really...Did I see the dunks??? NOOOO!!!!!!! Because the stupid Wizards dancers were dancing right in front of the the whole game.. holding up their Pom Poms the whole time!! ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!

Wizards won. Fans didn't really care.
Sidenote: your mascot GWIZ is even more ridiculous!!!

Conclusion: I JUST LOVE THE CELTICS AND THE ATMOSPHERE AT THE GARDEN!!! Even though we are having a very tough time right now people are supportive. I just love it!!!

How I almost got kicked out of the Garden!!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong

Don't people go to the games to support their team?
Isn't one way to show your support to stand up and cheer and clap whenever your team makes a good move?
Shouldn't you be excited when your team has a run and comes back in a game they were losing by 20?
Shouldn't you be happy, jumping up and down, screaming YES CELTICS when they actually play such good defense that the Suns get a 20 second violation?

Is it sooo wrong to be excited at a Celtics game???
Here is what happened to me tonight....here is how one single guy ruined what could have easily been one of the most amazing basketball nights for me.

Celtics tickets are always on sale for some reason ( go figure out why yourself ) So for tonight's game you could get tickets that are usually 80 something bucks for only 40 something. Jae and I got tickets. We ended up sitting in the 3rd or 4th row right behind the basket by the Celtics bench. AMAZING SEATS.
So of course I was totally excited. As usual I was having a blast. As usual I was on my feet whenever my team made a good move. I was cheering and clapping showing some love to my guys. I mean come on seriously....that's what you do when you go to a ball game right?? You root for the team you like. Obviously that's not what the guy sitting behind me does when he goes to a Celtics game.

The guy sitting behind me= guy in his 40's, out with his wife and his two teenage kids suddenly decides to continuously slap Jae to tell him to better calm ME down ...ME the BITCH as he called me. He was complaining to Jae about me standing up cheering and clapping. Well of course I didn't care. First of all because Daddy never had the nerve to talk to me, the bitch , in person. Instead he was bothering the people that were with me. I was still rooting for my team... I MEAN COME ON!!!!!!! PIERCE HAD A FUCKING AMAZING GAME!!!!... Daddy behind me didn't care obviously and kept bothering Jae until he freaked out and yelled at him...We almost go in a fight and Daddy runs away to get the security guy. Only minutes later the Security people show up because "there is obviously a problem here" that's when I almost lost it ..seriously.

" Oh excuse me Mister Security guy...I am not allowed to root for the Celtics anymore???????" " I am not allowed to stand up and clap when they are having a great game????" " What kind of shit is that????" " I don't come to the games to just SIT and STARE ,...I am here to SUPPORT."

So security guy asked Daddy to relax and asked him if he wants to sit somewhere else. Daddy wants to act tough in front of his kids and tells him..I AM STAYING..just on a sidenote..he had already made a BIG BIG fool out of himself in front of his kids..and the mom too..they were acting like teenagers. Calling me names and all that jazz. LAME!!!!!!

So I spent the next 4 minutes with my ass on the chair. Anyone who has ever seen me at a game knows how tough that actually is for me. Whenever the Celtics scored or made a good move I made sure DADDY could hear me yell... BIG AL I THINK YOU ARE AMAZING AND YOU KNOW I WOULD STAND UP TO CHEER FOR YOU BUT UNFORTUNATELY I AM NOT ALLOWED TO!!!!! or I said things like...PIERCE YOU KNOW YOU ARE MY HERO RIGHT NOW I WOULD LOVE TO JUMP UP TO SCREAM YOUR NAME BUT CERTAIN PEOPLE WOULD HAVE KICKED ME OUT OF THE GARDEN.

Daddy was pissed!!!! Mom was pissed!!! The kids were in shock. After they had just seen their parents embarrass themselves in front of the entire Lodge 17.

After being forced to sit down for a few minutes ( which seemed like an eternity to me ) I just moved over to the 3 empty seats next to me...I was standing up...cheering and clapping again!!!! After the game so many people came to me and told me that I didn't do anything wrong and that DADDY obviously had a problem and that he should have been kicked out. That guy and his wife totally ruined my night.

Come on.....what is so wrong with supporting your team?????? Some people should seriously stay at home on the couch to watch the game. What do you guys go to the Garden for??The pretzels???? The beer??? Well do me a favor...FREAKING STAY AT HOME NEXT TIME!!!! WE DON'T NEED LAME PEOPLE LIKE YOU AT THE GAMES. And oh another thing...aren't parent's supposed to be role models to their kids????? WHY NOT JUST TRY TO TALK TO ME TO TELL ME THAT I AM IN YOUR WAY??? noooooo instead you keep bugging the people I hang out with...wow that is exactly how parents should behave when they are with their kids!!!!!!!!!! I am so pissed right. I go to every single home game. I can't believe some guy who probably never goes to any of the games makes such a big scene and ruins MY CELTICS NIGHT!!!!! He ruined the one thing I love the most!!!! I can't believe that happened to me!!! I am soooo pissed and upset....and the sad thing is I haven't even talked about the game yet.....so erm..Doc..Perkins???Where???? so Doc...Scalabrine???Why????so..erm...Wally??? When will you finally show us your oh so famous Wally World thing huh???( I am a little overreacting right now forgive me but I am sooooooo mad ) Orien???Well, he played a little better tonight. Pierce???erm...well...Why don't you make those free throws at the end of the game..the ones that are actually very very important??? The following entry was inspired by the worst game I have seen in a long time, ex boyfriends and the article in the Boston Globe this morning.

The 'ex' factor

Ex boyfriends are usually a pain in the ass. Last night ex celtics players were just that ...A MOTHERFUCKING PAIN IN THE ASS. ( excuse my language )

Sometimes you break up with someone and for some reason you just can't seem to move on. Every time you see that person with a new partner it breaks your heart.

I am happy for him. He gets to play with Kevin Garnett. He seems to be enjoying himself. He will be loved by everyone in Minnesota in no time. BUT IT JUST LOOKS WRONG TO SEE HIM IN A TIMBERWOLVES JERSEY. Just come back geez!!

Sometimes you break up with someone because that person is basically a jerk. Let's say he never helps you out at home. He's just lazy and throws his dirty laundry all over the place. Suddenly he is with a new partner and he seems to be the perfect guy. Polite, ambitious. Suddenly he does whatever he hasn't done before.

He never really got to play here in Boston. Now and then you could see his talent. One person here in Boston obviously decided he wasn't good enough for us and chose OG to take his place. Man, Banks was on fire. He was all over the place. I can't believe it. He was just amazing. Whenever he touched the ball I got this sick feeling in my stomach. I was painful to watch him play like that thinking..DAMN...why the hell didn't he get the chance to do that while he was here. By the end of the game I could not stand him and his cheeky smile anymore though. FUCK!!! He was amazing. ( I doubt he will be able to play like that for 2 games in a row but I at least have to give him credit for his amazing game last night )

Then there is usually a dorkie guy. You don't even remember why you fell in love with him. He slips and falls all the time. You break up and a couple of months later you meet him again to find out he has turned into a mature grown up and you think..FUCK!!! Why was he the dorkie guy with me huh ???

THAT WAS REED TO ME LAST NIGHT!!!!!!

Seriously!!!!! Reed blocking?? Reed dunking??? ( almost ) Reed making all the free throws????? HUH????? What the hell happened???? I still remember the days when I made fun of him and his poor free throw shooting. Last night he didn't seem to be the 'clumsy' guy anymore. I just can't believe it.

Friday Jan.27: Sacramento Kings

The last 24 hours have been an emotional rollercoaster for me.

First the person who I was supposed to go to the game with today dumped me by saying: I thought you didn't want to go to the game so I gave the tickets away. ARE YOU SERIOUS????? Why would I not want to go to a game!!!?? I always go to the games!!! So that was a bummer.

A few minutes later I heard that Ricky was traded and I was just shocked.
I was so shocked that I asked my friend Sam Adams to help me feel a little better. And he did. For a couple of hours I was not thinking about the Ricky-less Celtics.

Unfortunately Sam Adams only kept me happy until around 10 this morning when I woke up thinking..FUCK..I still have to get a ticket AND I have to go to work..AND Ricky is gone!!! I swear to god, all I talked about this morning was the Celtics. People tried to have regular conversations with me but I kept changing the topic back to how much I hate Ainge and How I don't understand all this, How I miss Ricky Davis already.

I was a mess seriously. So I hurried to the Garden to get tickets. GREAT GREAT SEATS!!! So for a second or two I felt a little better. Then I saw the Ricky jerseys on sale and I was all sad again.

A few hours later I was back at the Garden. Great seats, I was nervous. Deep down inside I was thinking. Wally won't even play tonight because of his pregnant wife so it will be alright. Well, I was wrong. He DID play....

Even though the guy sitting next to me just kept yelling stupid things and tried to start a conversation with me throughout the entire game, I have to say that in the 1st and 2nd quarter I really had a great time.
Wally entered the game and people were going nuts. Standing ovation for the new guy. It kind of hurt to see the crowd that excited and it didn't stop. Whenever he came close to the ball people were going insane. He hadn't even played 2 minutes and people were already screaming Wally Wally.
He had a good game and for a second I thought: this could actually work out. he brings some energy to the court. But the more the people rooted for him the more I started missing Ricky. I suddenly got a little emotional. So in the 3rd I didn't really feel like cheering at all. It got a little better in the fourth but I was definitely not being my old-dana-goes-nuts-self.

It was a nice win. I am proud.
It hurt though and it still does. Even taking the T back home was a pain in the ass last night. People were screaming Wally's name the whole time. Okay they were drunk...okay they were a little dumb BUT still. I don't remember the last time anyone was so excited about a Celtics win ( except for me and the Buckets of course haha )

I'm excited to see how all those changes will effect the next games.

last night when I was getting ready to go out my phone starts ringing. Within 5 minutes I got at least 12 text messages. I still can't believe what my friends were telling me.

I was shocked and immediately I looked online to find out that it was true. They traded you?????
They send you to Minnesota????? They took you away from me???? No more Ricky D?????

I was in shock and I have to admit I almost cried a little bit.
I decided to just go out and get drunk. All night I couldn't stop thinking about how much I'm going to miss you. No more Ricky-Oop. No more amazing plays with Delonte. NO MORE!!!!!!

The Celtics just won't be the same without you.
I think it was a big mistake to trade you. We not only lost a good player, an amazing teamleader we also lost one of the nice guys. What are we gonna do without you Ricky?? How are we gonna enjoy the games with 12 year old girls around us, drooling because they are sooooooo in love with sexy Wally???? What are the Buckets supposed to yell now? more about the group of Asian tourists in front of me, the wizards fan behind me, Paul's poor free throw shooting, blocks and Delonte's parents tomorrow!

Sitting right behind a group of 28 Asian tourists is already disturbing enough but sitting behind a group of 28 Asian tourists watching a game that should have been over after the 1st quarter almost killed me.
It is unbelievable what those people actually took picture of.

In the first quarter they were going nuts and so was I.
Everyone of them was taking at least 89 pictures of the game.
The first quarter was very refreshing. I really liked the way the Celtics played. The Wizards seemed to be tired and I bet I wasn't the only person thinking...SWEET REVENGE!!! YES!!!.or...We are going to win 3 in a row.....or We are going to start a run before the All Star break. Of course as usual I was on my feet, cheering, clapping and yelling which probably was the reason why you can find my picture in at least 26 Asian photo albums ( look mom..that's the crazy Celtics fan that was sitting right behind us, that's her in the first minute of the game...in the second..in the third haha )
So I was cheering, the Asian tourists were taking pictures and the Wizards fan behind me was rather quiet. The team looked fresh, they were actually playing some defense, there were hardly any turnovers and I was a happy kid.
Alright, alright, I was a little worried when Perkins got his 2nd foul and was replaced by Al but the optimistic side of me still believed.

Now please tell me, why did the Celtics stop playing Basketball in the 2nd quarter??? I mean seriously, there was this group of Asian tourist who had come all the way from wherever they are from just to watch the Celtics game. And what do the C's do??? They give up the lead. Shouldn't they be dunking when all those Asian kids have their cameras ready??? Shouldn't they be blocking??? I think the only highlight for them was the dropping of the parachutes ( I bet that made a nice picture ) and Delontes parents on Celtics vision ( but I am not even sure if they knew who Delonte is )
My highlight was Perk..Perk..PERKINS beautiful reverse dunk. That was it basically.
I have to admit that I was starting to get a little worried. So I tried my dana-drinking-beer-makes-the-celtics-play-better technique. Last game they scored 37 points when I started drinking....tonight...well..erm...I guess my own little technique doesn't really work.

In the 3rd it got even worse.

What does that mean? Well, the Wizards Fan behind me was suddenly standing up, cheering and clapping and well I think I caught some of the Asian tourists rooting for the Wizards and taking pictures of the Wizards fan now!

I was not amused at all. Doc plays Blount?? And I get even more nervous...Allen, Orien, Blount....aaarg.. I was sooo nervous.
I can't even believe I am saying this right now but for some reason Blount calmed me down with his 10 points in 6 minutes.
BUT of course....OF COURSE!!!!! things went wrong again. OF COURSE!!! What was I expecting anyways huh? This is the Celtics. May it be because they have too many turnovers. May it be because Paul Pierce missed 9 free throws last night, important ones. May it be because they get in foul trouble all the time. May it be because of Blount?? Doc??? Scal??? Maybe it's because the refs don't like the Celtics??? I have no idea what it is but they just can't seem to just close games. They were winning!!! and they had all those Asian tourists ( and me ) cheering for them!!!!! Why oh Why can't they just keep up the good game and WIN???????

We could have 28 new Celtics fans now, but thanks to the game last night we now have 28 new Asian Wizards fans. ( and one very sad Dana )

Monday Jan.23: New Orleans Hornets

Monday games are usually tough.
Why? I am usually very tired from work and the Garden is usually kind of empty. ( unless the Mavericks are coming to town of course )

This Monday was exactly the same. I was totally exhausted from work AND the Garden was kind of empty.
I still had a great time.
I sat down on the balcony. Relaxed. No people around me and I just enjoyed watching the game.
The first half was not really exciting to be honest. So during the 2nd quarter I started yawning so badly...I was seriously very close to falling asleep. LaFrentz however kept me from falling asleep. He had a pretty good shooting night and I caught myself screaming GIVE IT TO THE WHITE GUY a couple of times.
But not even Lafrentz convinced me that they would win this game. I had doubts. Deep down inside I was thinking...OH NO THEY BETTER NOT LOSE THIS ONE!!! It was bugging me so much that I decided to start drinking. I had one beer..two beer..and BANG...Celtics scored 37 points in the 3rd and I thought...WOW they play so much better when I'm drinking!!! Ricky from the left..Ricky from the right..Ricky here...Ricky there...Block Perkins!!! Ricky Ricky Ricky!!!!

He was on fire..and so was I. Maybe because of the beer I had OR because I was just soo happy to see him score like that.
So with the Celtics leading by 20 something points Doc Rivers starts playing the bench. ( of course )
It hurt!
Why??
Oh I really don't know. I know those kids are young and all that. But it was just very very tough to watch the 4th quarter. At one point I actually thought about leaving BUT of course I don't do that.
I stayed till the end.
CELTICS WON!!!

Not the most exciting game but definitely a nice basketball night for me.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention ORIEN GREENE
He probably had the worst game ever..0 points and a million fouls. Wow!!!

Friday Jan.20: New Jersey Nets

I can't believe how "busy" the balcony was that night.
Seriously, it must have been some kind of class trip or something but I was sitting in between hundreds of teenagers who couldn't care less about the game but were only interested in getting another soda or another hot dog.
So the entire first quarter I saw nothing but backs, butts and food.

I couldn't stand it anymore so I decided to sneak down to where Scott and I are usually sitting.
That's when I started watching the game!!! No butts, No teenagers yelling for hot dogs...I finally saw some HOOPS!!

I loved seeing Perkins and Al with another great game.
I loved people asking for Perkins.
I loved NOT seeing Blount!!!
I loved Pierce.
I loved how Ricky had a good game.
I loved how Carter missed the last shot.
I loved how the crowd got really excited. ( in the end at least )
I just loved that I could leave the Garden thinking..YES!!! TWO IN A ROW!

I was just an overall happy kid .
It was another great night at the Garden.

Thanks to the Buckets ( again ) who came down to say hi...It is kind of cool that the BUCKETS called me a great fan ( at least one of them ) thank you soo much.

Finally FINALLY!!! I got something for free. I have been to sooo many games now and that was the first time I really got something...I Finally Finally got....CHEER STICKS!!! YES YES YES

CAN I GET A PERK PERK!!!!

Oh my god!!! What a game!!!
I was sooo excited last night. I am not even kidding. My usually extremely pale cheeks were lobster red by the end of the game.

Why???
Perkins, the man, made me jump on my feet a million times in the 4th quarter. I mean come on, Rivers actually played him in the 4th??? That already made my heart beat faster and then I see him play a really good game. Together with Al they definitely shut up Garnett!!! Who the hell is Garnett anyways huh???

Last night's game will definitely keep me high for a while. ( unless something tragic happens on Friday ) Right now however I am absolutely convinced that the C's are going to have a run now. I don't know why but I am just sooooo impressed by what I saw last night. Only 5 turnovers!!! Finally!!!!
Perkins 31 minutes...17 points..6 rebounds.
Jefferson 27 minutes....18 points...4 rebounds.
I want to see more games like that!!!! Please!!!
I want to see the people get on their feet again like they did last night. ( even Scott )
Who cares that they lost to Philly?? Who cares that they lost to the Pistons??? I didn't care last night. I was completely satisfied after the game and I felt like screaming..SEE YOU BOSTONIANS..The Celtics sure do know how to win.

I was so convinced and proud of my team that I even made fun of a guy wearing a Garnett jersey on the T.

I can't believe I didn't get the shoe shuffle right last night.. I ALWAYS GET THE SHOE SHUFFLE RIGHT.

It was annoying to buy beer last night. I was almost arrested and send back home to Germany because I had a German ID. I was called an ILLEGAL twice last night and people almost refused to serve me beer!!!! I AM NOT AN ILLEGAL DAMMIT!!!!

I still can't believe one of the guys behind me asked his buddy..so..erm..how many quarters are there in this game? They were THE anti basketball people...thank god Pierce made the crowd go nuts so I didn't have to listen to those guys anymore.

Sitting a few rows below the buckets sure is fun. They are enthusiastic and I wish more people were like that.

Dear beloved blog,

I've ignored you for so long now.
I do feel awfully bad. I can't even stand the shame anymore.
I think I owe you an explanation.

I definitely didn't ignore you because I thought there was nothing interesting to write about the Celtics. That is definitely not the reason.
I still remember this cold winter day in December. I was sitting on one of the couches at Boston Billard and I think I almost cried when I saw that the Bulls beat the Celtics by, I don't even remember, maybe 30 points??? That horrible game not only broke my heart but also made me go on a Celtics strike! I decided not to go to the next two home games. Why??? Well, probably because the game against the Bulls made me spend so much money on beer so that there was nooo money left for Celtics tickets. I also refused to watch the games on TV though.

Now you will probably ask yourself why didn't she learn from her last Celtics strike? She missed the most amazing game? Well...I guess I am too stubborn and guess what blog, I missed two wins this time!! TWO!!! Not only one...NO...TWO!!! At home!!! Two wins at home!!!!
It was a very depressing week for me and I swear to god I won't ever go on a Celtics strike again. Never Ever!!!!

After those two wins they went on what everybody called the Wild Wild West trip or something like that??
I call it 5 games...one win!!! End of story! You want to know how many times I yelled WHERE IS PERKINS?? ..I really don't remember.
Blog can you imagine? I even spent New Years Eve watching the Celtics!! It is official, I have turned into a crazy Celtics fan.
So of course I was at the Garden January 4th to yell at Blount a little bit and to see my Celtics win.
Why did I not tell you about this blog??? Well, kids are evil. Kids don't like computers sometimes. Kids tend to kick things. I just hate kids.

Kids also forced me to miss the game against Atlanta. I was forced to watch it at home. AMAZING GAME...but..well..erm..they lost. I think I actually have to say that this game started what I like to call... WHY ARE YOU CELTICS PEOPLE TRYING TO KILL ME? series of games.
I had at least 5 million heart attacks after that game until now.
Saturday Jan 7th:
I was forced to watch the game at a bar among Patriots fans who were trying to beat me up for occupying the TV...WHO WATCHES THE CELTICS ANYWAYS!!! THE CELTICS SUCKS!!!!YOU ARE NUTS GIRL!!!!THEY GONNA LOSE ANYWAYS!!! THEY ALWAYS LOSE!!!!! PATRIOTS PATRIOTS!!! That's basically what I had to deal with all night. Did that stop me from cheering???? Hell no!!!! Did that make me pretend to be a Patriots Fan??? HECK NO!!!! I was strong and watched the entire game surrounded by crazy people watching the Patriots Playoff game.
The Celtics lost by 1 and I made sure no one saw me leave that place haha.

Monday Jan 9th:
I had met Perkins, Greene and Jefferson the night before and of course I was in heaven. I was sure they could kick Nowitzki's ass. I mean I had even told Perkins, KICK DIRK'S ASS WILL YA!!!! So I was convinced they would win this game. PLUS I was sitting two rows behind the visitor bench and I was screaming and yelling at Dirk in my best German. ( my German is really good ) The game was just another heart breaker. Pierce ties the game with 50(?) seconds left...the Garden was on fire. People were on their feet. People were screaming. People were cheering. People were clapping. It was sooo amazing. Well, Stackhouse didn't seem to like the atmosphere going on there...bang...Celtics lose. Again I had a couple of questions but not enough energy to discuss them right now.

Tuesday Jan 10th
just another heartbreaker in Atlanta!!!
but nothing ...seriously NOTHING beats the game against Philadelphia Friday Jan 13th!!!!
I am surprised I survived that game. I am not even kidding . First of all it is always tough for me to watch Chris Webber AND the Celtics at the same time. Second...TRIPLE OVERTIME????????? Are you trying to kill me before I even turn 27??? I don't think I will EVER forget that game. Overtime without Perkins and Delonte but with a Webber who was dunking the SHIT OUT OF US!!! Blog, you know how much I love Chris Webber but that night I couldn't stand him!! I actually left the bar right after the game, crying, screaming HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO ME CHRIS??????? It was tough! Tough. Tough!!!

Thank god I was working and I missed Ricky's 44 minutes-no basket game against the Pistons!!!!

So blog...as you can see the last couple of weeks have been very interesting. I am so sorry you missed out on everything that happened.
I am back though.
The computer is fixed.
I won't ever ignore you again!!!

They obviously go bowling too!!

Let me tell you a little story.
It was a Sunday in January 2006.
As usual I was working. As usual I was working too many hours.
Around 8 I was finally done with work and I let my friends convince me to go bowling.
I walked into the bowling place and I see this tall black dude and I'm thinking..OH MY GOD that's Big Al. I was kind of confused because obviously I was the only person who thought it was Big Al. So I started asking all my friends...

Look..see this black guy??? Is it just me being confused right now or is that BIG AL???
All they said was..who the hell is Big Al??? Well not really but they didn't care at all.

Okay...I couldn't count on my friends..the Anti Celtics people...so after starring at him for 20 minutes I figured..it sure IS Big Al and I was starting to get nervous....very very nervous. I finally had the strength to walk up to him to ask for a picture.

He keeps bowling and I am thinking. Wow...is this really happening? I was so excited and happy.
About half an hour later he leaves.
It took me about an hour and 30 minutes to calm down. I JUST MET AL JEFFERSON. I finally started to breathe again as I turned around and who did I see walking in????

Kendrik Perkins AND Orien Greene!!!!!
That moment I was seriously close to having a heart attack.
Was that really Perk right there? The man that I rooted for soo many times at the garden lately? YES IT WAS.
I couldn't believe it.
So again I walk over and ask them for a picture

The guys start bowling about 10 lanes away from me but I have to be honest. I could not focus on my game anymore. I was almost peeing my pants. I was just soo excited. I mean come on seriously. How lucky can one girl get? I go bowling and I meet 3 Celtics players!!!! Wow!!
There obviously is a god and he obviously is a Celtis fan. So I don't know what happened but a couple of minutes later our bowling lane breaks and I am thinking...OH NO!! I don't want to go home yet!
"I am sorry guys but we have to move you to a different lane..number 52"
Lane 52 happened to be the one right next to the guys..MY HEART WAS JUMPING UP AND DOWN!!!
So the rest of the night I spent taking turns with Perkins and Greene. They were rooting for me whenever I got the strike...

I was the happiest girl.
I still can't believe that really happened to me!!!

You think it's because the Celtics keep losing??? No..that is definitely not the reason. I am still obsessed with them but unfortunately this little girl that I know decided to kick my beloved computer, Santa decided not to bring me a new one and well my blog has to suffer now.

Things will get better though...not only will I get a new computer soon but the Celtics will start winning games.

Just wait and see!

I don't even know what to say about last night's game.
Right now I am just kind of mad.

Mmmh..wait. Maybe because the Celtics didn't seem to be able to score at all in the 2nd quarter??
I don't even know how many times I actually said...Scott this might be the worst quarter I have ever seen at the Garden.
IT WAS HORRIBLE.

Poor shooting, bad defense, wait....pretty much everything looked horrible.
The Celtics then somehow managed to tie the game and I was actually jumping out of my seat a couple of times. ( and I once spilled beer on the guy sitting in front of me ..sorry..but I was getting a little excited )

Of course the Celtics didn't win . Why????? Only Doc Rivers knows why.

Finally!!!
The Celtics are back in town.
They have definitely been gone for too long.
So finally, after almost two weeks I was on my way to the Garden again.
I was freaking excited...I really was.
I JUST WANTED TO GO INSIDE TO WATCH THE CELTICS GAME ALREADY!!!!!

I might have been a little pissed when I finally sat down.
And BANG!!! I looked at the score and suddenly I was all happy again. OH OH OH we are winning.

It felt so good to be back at the Garden. It was quite empty but I guess that's nothing special if you are going to a Celtics game on a Wednesday night.
The second quarter was NICE!!I jumped up quite a few times which was definitely bothering the Delonte West fans behind me.
I got a little worried in the 3rd and I think I leaned over to my buddy Jay and said..SEEEEEEEE Perk is not in there anymore ...it's going down !!! But well...erm...I guess I kind of have to say some nice things about Blount this time. He had a good game. He suddenly seemed to be so much tougher and motivated. And I think I know why!!!

He saw Perkins and Al playing before...blocking..dunking...rebounding..the crowd was getting excited. Wouldn't you want to be like the Perkinator or Big Al if you were Blount???? I would!
It was not the best game but Perk and Al seriously got me cheering a couple of times.
I am glad they won this game and I can't wait to see another win on Friday!!!

Notes:

They had some nice little features on Celtics vision going on tonight. Making fun of Pacers fans. Comparing people in the audience with Chewbukka ( I wish I knew how to spell that name ) It was fun to watch.

Matt, member of the Bucketsbrigade, almost won the Halftime show thingy...I have to admit that I was cheering for him BIG TIME!!! I think the people behind me were probably thinking..WOW she is weird during the game she hardly ever cheers and as soon as a guy with a bucket on his head makes a layup ( NICE by the way ) she freaks out hahah

I almost!!! caught a Tshirt...ALMOST!!!! Stop asking WHO WANTS A FREE TSHIRT!!! I always say YES and Never ever get one!! Mean.

Did you see O'Neal miss that dunk??? hahah I was cracking up. Funny.

Raef..Ricky...meet me in front of my house and let me show you how to get the ball INTO the basket. Again they had a bad shooting night.

This girl behind me was kind of annoying. She kept screaming YEEEEEEEEAAAAH BAAAAABYYYYYY whenever Delonte touched the ball.

Saturday. Dec: Dallas Mavericks

Where did I watch the game: Coolidge Corner Clubhouse..AWESOME SPORTSBAR

After hours and hours of christmas shopping I was finally on my way to the Coolidge Corner Clubhouse to watch the Celtics game. I didn't have anyone to watch the game with and for some reason I was really looking forward to it. Finally I would be able to just sit down, have a beer and focus on the game.

So I sat down..ordered a beer and something to eat ( good food too by the way ) and wow..I was looking at 4 TV's in front of me...3 different NBA games and one of the was the sixers game. I WAS IN HEAVEN. I watched the other teams and I thought MAN..we need someone like Dalembert. We definitely need someone like Korver who for at least 5 minutes was the reason I stopped drinking my beer to stare at the TV with my mouth wide opened. And of course we do need Chris Webber..the real one, because well..that would be amazing!!!

Shortly after 8:30 it was finally time for the Celtics.
I am always optimistic and yet again I was thinking..tonight is the night. Dallas is beatable and in a way I was very excited about seeing my countryman Dirk and how someone kicks his ass. I was hoping Perkins would be the one to do that. I saw the starting line up..Blount AND Perkins?? mmh okay.
Dirk had a really hard time making the shot and I thought WOW looks like they found a way to control the German guy.
I have to say though that you could tell a difference between Perk and Blount. Perk seemed to have more control over Dirk but oh well..yet again someone thought differently. Someone who's name starts with Doc and ends with Rivers.

It was a close game and BIG AL just played an amazing second half. I think I was yelling DID YOU SEE WHAT HE JUST DID ?? a million times and people were starting to give me looks. It was really really close and I think we were about to tie the game. I think we could have made it at least. That's when this group of guys starts talking to me. They asked me all kinds of questions about the Celtics as if to test if I am really interested in the team or just pretending. Then we ended up talking about soccer and hockey and well..I couldn't focus on the game anymore....and well...things went DOWN.
Whenever those guys stopped talking to go to the bathroom or to sip from their drinks I was peeking at the tv to then shake my head.
We don't have a real Pointguard do we?? Delonte is doing a good job. I think he is trying real hard but still.
I think Perkins should have played more in the 4th. Did he play at all in the second half? And why is it that Al and Perkins never play together?? I think they would make an awesome team.
Dickau???? Don't even get me started. I don't get it.

I was starting to get really upset. I just ordered another beer.
I feel sorry for the team. They seem to try really hard. The last two games were tough and still they did a good job. We didn't win..right..but I have to at least give them credit for working hard.

And since I am sooo optimistic I will end this post by saying..
WE WILL KICK SOME ASS ON WEDNESDAY and I will be there..cheering..screaming.

Where the hell did all the snow come from???
Seriously. There was snow everywhere. Huge snowmountains and ice on the streets made me miss the first couple of minutes of the game.
Nick was already waiting. I decided to watch the game with him because he still doesn't believe that some girls actually like Basketball. He definitely doesn't believe that girls actually like the Celtics and most of all he doesn't think girls have a clue about Basketball at all.
I kind of wanted to prove that I really like the Celtics and that I know a little bit about them. Well at least I know the names of the players haha.
So we sat down and right away he started his little interview and he seemed to be surprised that I actually knew most of the answers and that I could actually have a real conversation about basketball without using the words cute..or lovely..or whatever girls would say. I don't really know.

The whole interview thing made me miss most of the game. ARRRG!!! Seriously people..stop distracting me!! Just let me watch the game.
So ..well..we lost. I wasn't really expecting the Celtics to win but deep down inside I was hoping , as usual.
Maybe tomorrow!!

Tuesday. Dec.6: Houston Rockets

Game number one of what people like to call the Wild Wild West trip or something like that.
Houston Rockets.
I have to admit I was kind of optimistic about this game. Deep down inside I was seriously thinking we would kick some ass.
So after work I took the bus to kenmore station.
I met Scott at 8:30 in front of the Cask'N'Flagon....that is Red Sox country just in case you didn't know.
So was anyone watching the Celtics game there??? Nope..no one except for us I think.
Do we care? Or should I say...Do I care??? Nope..at least they had a big TV and Sam Adams what else do you need to watch the game huh?

Last night I definitely didn't have enough beer. It really hurt to watch the game.
So...we obviously didn't kick ass. In fact we didn't kick ass AT ALL!
I always have to find someone or something to blame for the loss...sometimes I blame the seats...or the weather..or whatever.
After the game I went to bed and I was thinking about who I could blame for this AWFUL BASKETBALL NIGHT!!!
Maybe:
1) The Red Sox
How come there is such thing as a Red Sox area..region ..country here in Boston..places for Red Sox Fans to go to whenever they want to watch a game and want to hang out with other crazy Red Sox Fans. Actually I think pretty much every bar here in Boston is a Red Sox bar...HOW COME THERE IS NOT REALLY A CELTICS COUNTRY huh??HUH?? I bet watching the games among other Celtics fans..surrounded by Celtics goodies on the walls would make such a loss so much more acceptable. Maybe they wouldn't have even lost if such a bar excisted. BOOO

or maybe:
2) The Irish guy who talked to me before the game. I was trying to focus on the Celtics..MY TEAM..and he starts asking me questions about Fenway Park and the Red Sox!!! He jinxed it!!!

or maybe:
3) Scott..for not really paying attention to the game. Leaving in the middle of the game to go to a different bar??? Watching the BC game??? Unacceptable!!! haha

or should I blame:
4) Reed for thinking he is part of the TAKE A SHOT competition at The Garden??? I mean come on..what on earth was he doing??? I seriously don't have a clue if he was trying to get the ball into the basket at all. That was by far the worst free throw shooting I have seen in a while!!!!

or maybe:
5) Ricky Davis...I think last night was the first night I said...wow Ricky sucks. I am really sorry Ricky..but what is going on with you lately??? He hasn't had a good shooting night in a while. At least it seems like forever. I am so upset about it. Ricky...YOU ARE NOT RICKY these days. I was trying to find a reason why he is in such a bad condition lately...I couldn't really find a reason but then I remembered how the coach of my brothers soccer team always told them not to have sex the night before the games because it would negatively influence their games and their skills. RICKY!!!! STOP MAKING OUT WITH GIRLS!!!! hahah ( welcome to a girl's approach to basketball )

or what about:
6) I remember there is this one..tall ...black guy on our team...I even remember him blocking Ming..but then he disappeared. He always does that..just leaves. I wish I could see him more often..what's his name again..erm..erm..he doesn't play enough to even remember his name but I think it starts with Perk and ends with ins!!!! RIVERS WE NEED TO TALK!!!!

should I blame:
7) The man himself...Doc "the whiny face" Rivers.
How can you encourage your team to play better if you look like you are close to tears all the time??? Someone teach him how to use his facial expressions a little better. He just doesn't look like a coach to me. He doesn't even act as if he is a coach..but that's just my impression and I am only a girl and I don't have a clue about basketball hahah.But come on...Dickau...Gomes..Scalabrine..Blount all playing at the same time?? That's like a nightmare and I really couldn't believe my eyes.

Ouch Ouch Ouch!!!!
My head still hurts from banging it on the bar a million times.
I think I found the answer...
I will just blame Mc Grady. Come on Tracy..you couldn't have waited one more day for your back to get better?? Were you only pretending to be hurt the last 8 games to bring up the hopes of a German girl??? Just admit it..your back never really hurt right???

OUCH!!!!!!
Way to go Celtics. Hopefully they win tonight because San Antonio on Friday and the German Wunderkind on Saturday???

Friday Dec.2: Chicago Bulls

I was actually supposed to go see the game live with Scott but unfortunately I ended up working.
I was stuck at home watching the game on TV.
Because of work I missed the first quarter.
I jumped into the 2nd and my first thought was...WHERE IS PERKINS?? I was totally surprised to not see him playing.

My second thought was..Oh no the Bulls are leading by 13...14...15. They were on a 12-2 run and Perkins was still on the bench??? Come on!

3:11 to go in the second and the cameras show Perkins still sitting on the bench. He looked like he was trying to figure out why the hell he was sitting there

and well I was trying to figure out the same.

The team I saw there didn't look like the team I saw on Wednesday
Pierce finishes the 2nd with a nice layup..Chicago leading by 8.

3rd ...Perkins is back..Yes Yes Yes and suddenly you could feel a change. ( I think )
He was all over the place..he was playing such good defense.
Delonte was playing some good defense as well.
Jumpshot..Perk gets it of course 8:20
8:10 Pierce basically knocking down the Bulls defense by just passing 3 or 4 Bulls players..he gets the foul.
Bulls leading by 4..Steal by Pierce...turnover ...gets the point...Garden is celebrating.Pierce feels the energy

Seriously the 3rd was just amazing, amazing defense. Seemed like the Bulls didn't have a chance at all.. Ricky got a cheeky look on his face. He just loved it and so did the crowd. The 3rd quarter was pretty impressive.

It is just amazing how much better this team played now that Perkins was playing. I have no idea if it is because of him but I was definitely enjoying to watch this game that moment.

Plus It was just amazing to see what Pierce was doing. There were usually 2 people blocking him but he somehow managed to get passed them and get the foul. He didn't play selfish at all. In fact he played a terrific game.

Yet another Rebound by Pierce followed by a BAD shot!!!
And another Rebound by PP followed by 3 points by the man himself!

Already one Bulls guy is very impressive. Number 7 ..He can pretty much shoot from anywhere and the ball will find the basket...

Mark Blount gets the Rebound with 24 seconds and straight after that he gets the two points..pretty good play

Good quarter...keep it up!!

Here is what I thought when watching the game because this time I was smart enough to take notes. ( It was way too difficult for me to watch the game and take notes at the same time and I don't think I will ever do it again..my recaps maybe unprofessional but hey this is only about what I felt while watching the game and hey I am unprofessional..so who cares )

~Nice pass by Pierce to Al
~Terrific defense by the Celtics!! I am pretty much just sitting here starring at them totally impressed..Unfortunately orien loses the ball

~Oh wow..again I am speechless.
10:20 to go Blount makes an amazing pass to Big Al who gets the foul...now Big Al only has to learn to get the ball into the basket. But he is still young, he will eventually learn.

~Celtics leading by 5. Delonte comes back.
Ricky gets the Rebound..nice pass by Ricky all the way across the court to Big all..who gets his first 2 points.

~8:20 to go in the 4th Celtics leading by 5
and yet another rebound by PP
and what a surprise ...PP is on the line for 2 again
6:10 Amazing steal by PP ...he is such a defense monster tonight

Celtics lost a tough game at home.

Paul did all he could do to win this game. He was incredible tonight.
Even with a season high he couldn't save the game. The Bulls really played some basketball out there. They may be a young team as well but they play well together. I was pretty impressed.
Scott may be blaming me for the loss but I am definitely blaming our defense right now..and with that I am probably blaming whoever was responsible for keeping Perkins on the bench for sooo long. I mean he only had 1 rebound but the defense needs him.

Thank god I am an enthusiastic German girl.
Thank god I love going to the Garden because ...well...the beer is good??
Thank god I obviously have too much money to buy all those Celtics tickets.
Thank god I am super optimistic....otherwise I would probably give up on the Celtics.
It is very tough to watch the games.

How many times was I close to fainting?: Whenever I saw Webber..so that means quite a few times
Which team was I rooting for? The Celtics of course but I do have to admit that now and then I jumped up to cheer for Chris da Man Webber haha

I had been waiting for this game for so long.
Every night before I went to bed I looked at the tickets and thought...Chris is almost here!! Almost! Only a couple of days left.

Finally, November 30th.
Usually I grab a beer at a bar before the game. Yesterday I just couldn't. I just wanted to go into the Garden. I finally wanted to see him. Okay Okay, I couldn't really see anything from up there on the balcony but I was still extremely excited.
I felt like a kid in a candy store. I mean just imagine..being in Germany having to stay up all night to watch the games because of the time difference and NOW...Boston..Live..Garden..and Chris Webber. I remember back in the days when I was still young me and my brother used to collect Basketball cards. I was holding on to my Chris Webber Michigan card for the longest time and now matter what people offered me I did not trade this card. I still have it. And last night seeing him live for the first time I totally remembered the good old days.

The night pretty much seemed perfect already before the game had even started.
But now to the game!!!

Oh my god!!!!
What a change to Monday night's game or Friday's game. I know everyone has been talking about it ...all over the newspapers ...all over the Celtics blogs...you could hear it at the Garden last night

PERKINS WAS THE MAN OF THE GAME
12 points, 19 (!) rebounds, 4 assists.

He received standing ovations after being fouled out in the 4th.
Even if he was the man of the game I have to say that this game was won because the whole team worked a lot last night.
West was stuck to guard Allen Iverson....Iverson the guy who doesn't seem to get tired. He played the entire game..did he score 40 AGAIN?? I mean WOW, he is NASTY. West however did a good job considering the fact that Allen THE ENERGIZER BUNNY Iverson was in his face all night!

Paul Pierce and Ricky Davis ...well...they were awesome.
Did you see that sick alley-oop at 2:32 left in the 3rd?????? AMAZING!! West tossed up a ball to the corner of the board from the left side of the key, outside the arc and Davis catches and finishes in a SWEET way.

Pierce?? 32 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists...NICE NICE!!!

Before the game I read so much about Korver and how much of a thread he will be for the Celtics. I seriously didn't even notice him until late in the 2nd. ( maybe because I was all the way up on the balcony OR maybe because I was starring at Webber the whole time ) Davis repeatedly got past him!!

Amazing game! Let's hope that the Celtics can keep up the energy for a while and let's hope that Perkins wasn't only having a lucky night but that he maybe really has a positive effect on the whole team!

The guy who passed out in front of the men's room with vomit all over his clothes missed a great game

I think I am now in the condition to actually make a statement about last night's game.

Like I said, I probably don't know enough about basketball in general but what the hell is going on with the Celtics or let's say what the hell is Doc Rivers doing???

Sometimes, and especially last night, I get the impression he doesn't have a real plan.
Sometimes, and especially last night, it seems like he isn't really sure which players he wants to use.
Of course rotation is a good thing and it eventually helps you to figure out which players work well together but why the hell doesn't he even get players get the chance to make a certain rotation work??? Why don't give players the chance to get used to a certain pattern?
To me it seems like Rivers doesn't have a long term plan..it seems like he seriously doesn't know what he is doing.
I mean I don't get it..start with Perkins who actually seemed to dominate Dwight Howard but then end up putting in Blount for 30 minutes..Blount who actually seemed to play better last night BUT didn't quite impress me as much as Perkins???
Raef was obviously having a bad night last night..Why keep him out there?
I could keep going but it doesn't even make sense.

The last minutes of last night's game were not only bad for my heart because I was seriously close to a heart attack, but also made the team and especially the coach look like kids who don't have a clue about basketball and who don't know when to call a time out and so on and so on.

It seemed like a completely wrong management of time outs and rotations to me and I also got the impression that the players were confused in a way.

This was a game we should have had...Oh my How many times have we heard that sentence this season already???
And now the 76ers are coming to town...oh dear oh dear!!!
I am excited to see what will happen tomorrow!

I just had the most amazing Celtics experience, at least that's what it feels like to me right now.
Around 6:45 I took the train to Northstation.
I bought a really cheap ticket from one of the ticket guys walking around in front of TD Banknorth Garden. I actually made a good deal. He sold me a 30 bucks ticket for 10 so that wasn't bad.
I went inside and it was totally empty. Almost all the balcony seats were empty and I also spotted some empty seats right next to the court and I thought..TONIGHT IS MY NIGHT. I am so going to sit somewhere down there soon. So I waited a couple of minutes and I lay my eyes on this one specific seat right behind the visitor bench. In the middle of the Second quarter I did it. I gave up my good balcony seat to walk down and sit down on my new seat right behind GRANT HILL!!!!!!!

Words can not even describe how it felt to sit that close to the court. For the first time I could really see Ricky and Co and OH MY GOD I was sitting right behind GRANT HILL!!! This is unbelievable for a German girl like me who usually only gets to watch NBA games on TV in the middle of the night because of the time difference. I have been to a couple of NBA games when I lived in Chicago but tonight was seriously overwhelming. Maybe because the Garden kind of feels like my new home now and I have been to a couple of games now but I have never been THAT close to the real action.

Right now I am trying to recap what happened really but all I can think of is how excited I was to be that close....I still am.
I wish I could write a totally professional blog about how the Celtics lost tonight but I think I am only a girl who is just totally fascinated by the NBA but doesn't know enough about offense and defense. Actually I was so overwhelmed tonight that even a 9 year old kid next to me could easily confuse me. The whole time I was thinking..oh my god..it's Grant Hill and suddenly this kid tells his mom..LOOK it's Gary Payton..and I am thinking..it's not Gary Payton is it??? This is not Gary Payton or is it him??? I was sooo confused, nervous, excited, happy and speechless at the same time I just couldn't think straight anymore. ( that is why I said I could smell Gary Payton tonight Scott haha )

I am not even going to try to write a recap about the game I just saw at TD Banknorth Garden. I just can't do it. Not right now..maybe tomorrow.
I mean I even missed the shoe shuffle tonight and I never miss the shoe shuffle...I was basically freaking out and close to a heart attack tonight.
You might think I am crazy but OH MY GOD!!!! I just had the time of my life.
I just love the NBA!!!!!

For a whole week I was forced to ignore the Celtics.
I was stuck in San Diego and when I wasn't working I was forced to watch Lakers games.
For an entire week I didn't really get any information about the Celtics.
No internet..No time to read the paper..No time to watch TV really.

I obviously didn't miss too much.
They lost to Atlanta and Cleveland??? Oh dear oh dear.
When I heard that I thought..I better get my ass back to Boston to show some love!

I arrived in Boston around 4pm rushed home and around 6 I was ready to take the T to North Station.
TIME FOR THE CELTICS!

I bought tickets from the ticket Scout right next to Dunkin Donuts and shortly after 7 Scott and I were waiting in line to get into the Garden.
It was packed and I was a little surprised to see that many people.
After losing twice people still showed up to support the C's. It's just amazing and it just made me even more excited.
I felt like a kid in a candy store.
"Welcome home" Scott said and let me tell you, it sure felt like home.

I HAD MISSED THE CELTICS SO MUCH IN SAN DIEGO.
So there I was at the Garden again. All the way up on the balcony Row 14 ( there are only 15 rows up there so I was almost sitting in the last row haha )
I had a good feeling about the game ( I always do though ) I thought they would definitely win tonight...for me and for all the other people that showed up.
It was a kind of emotional situation for me and I don't even know why.
It felt so good to be back. I was so excited to finally see them play again. I was kind of nervous so I tried my best to just focus on the game...well...I tried.

Ricky opened the game by giving a little speech to the audience.
The first time I was surprised was when I saw the starting 5
Perkins?
Greene?
Where are West and Blount? Like I said I totally didn't read or hear anything about the Celtics the last couple of days so that was kind of a surprise to me. Blount didn't get to play one single minute and I still don't really know why ..someone fill me in please!
The Celtics seemed to be very inconsistent. I think you could tell that West wasn't playing. Greene made a couple of mistakes but thanks to Raef ( and of course Paul and Ricky ) the C's managed to keep up.
In the third quarter I had finally calmed down a little bit and I started to really focus on the game and I did jump up a couple of times because I was just so excited.
The 4th quarter was just too much for me. It was so close I couldn't even stand it. I was holding onto Scott's arm soo many times.
Suddenly the game was tied with only a couple of minutes left and I thought. Come on Celtics..don't do that to me and all the other people. JUST WIN THIS GAME ALREADY!

Thank god Pierce had the guts to step up and make that shot!!!
AT THE BUZZER and Oh my god it sure felt good to see that.
It definitely wasn't a "big" win and they should definitely have won by at least 10 but it all doesn't seem to matter right now.
I needed that win and I think everyone else there did.

Everyone who has been to the Garden knows him and the crowd of people he is with...So last night I found out that all those people have free season tickets and I am jealous! I WANT FREE SEASON TICKETS TOO!!!! Who did I watch it with? First I was watching it by myself but then my cheering and swearing made all the people around me watch the game too

I regret two things tonight.

First of all I regret not wearing my long socks when I left the house. It was freaking cold here in Boston tonight and I was freezing to death on my way to the bar.
Second I regret not watching the game at TD BANKNORTH GARDEN. All day I was debating on whether to go to the game or not. At 6:30 I was sooo close to taking the T to North Station but then I changed my mind.

Next time I should just GO GO GO. I missed the chance to see the Celtics win.

FINALLY A WIN!!

I think if I keep watching the Celtics games I might have a nervous breakdown before I am 30.
I mean come on seriously. The Raptors??? You should not give a team like the Raptors the lead after the second quarter right right?

I was starting to get a little upset.
Ricky didn't seem to be in his best shape the first two quarters. The Raptors seemed to be the better team and again it looked like pretty much everyone could beat the Celtics.

Halftime..thank god!! Finally!!!
The 3rd quarter started a lot better.
Defense seemed to be more organized.
The team in general seemed to work together a little more. Maybe it was because of Dickau and Perkins? Another reason might have been that Ricky finally found his shape again.
He was definitely the man of the 3rd and 4th period.
So I was yelling and screaming and I will probably never be allowed to watch a game at that bar again but at least they won and that's all that matters right now.
It was a pretty tough and very close game for the Celtics.

The one thing I remember about this game is Rose and how much I hate him.

I totally had a flashback when I saw him today.
It brought up the good old Chicago times...I was living in Chicago and of course just like everybody else I loved the Bulls and Michael Jordan ( that was in 97/98 )
You automatically had to hate the Pacers too ...don't ask me why but that was just some kind of Chicago rule..Well I hated them and Rose used to be one of them. Seeing him play tonight and some Michael Jordan commercial during halftime brought up memories how the Bulls won their 6th Championship. The good old days.

Alright...it is official, I just suck at writing recaps of games ..I just keep forgetting what really happened during the games..haha

Tough game for the C's tonight. Local boy Ray Allen kicked ass and old friend Vitaly Potapenko chipping in for a more than a few. Not much D for the green and Pierce a little slow getting into the offense. Tough loss. But! All in all a tolerable experience seeing the game with Ms. Dana. A lovely, enthusiastic Cutie who I hope to see many more games (hopefully wins) with. Not much of a beer-drinker though.... Ha! I'll be waving to her from down low next game. I was pretty excited about tonight's game
First of all because I was gonna see Scott again and second because I felt like tonight might be a magic celtic night...that means I thought they would kick seattle's ass/

Well I guess I was wrong.
I got to the Garden on time...We even heard the Anthem tonight...some guy from Massachusetts sang it..i forgot his name.
The Garden was pretty empty. But It still was a good atmosphere. Maybe I just felt like that because the Hulk Look-a-like Mega Celtics Fan was sitting right behind us.( and the whole gang ) Those guys are at all the games...ANYWAYS...the game pretty much sucked. Right now I am trying to remember the key moments...well for some reason I can't...I can only remember ONE SINGLE THING...
RAY FUCKING ALLEN...he kicked ass. This guy is amazing let me tell you. I am sure Scott can find the right words to disrcibe Ray da Man..or wait..who was that white guy again???
I am now officially inviting Scott to be a member of this blog. I know he is obsesses with the Celtics too and I know he enjoys watching the games with me ( just like I do with him ) so Scott..you tell them What did YOU think of the game

Tuesday. Nov.15 : Detroit Pistons

How many times did I scream FUCK? About a million times especially in the 3rd and 4th quarter
How many times was I complaining about the commercials? about two million times..soooo annoying

I left home around 7:20. I didn't really know where to watch the game yet. I just wanted to watch it for sure. So I decided to just hop on the bus and to get off somewhere around Fenway Park.
I found this nice bar. They had a huuuuge screen and couches in front of it. I thought..SWEET..that's where I'm gonna watch the games from now on.

I got there and the Celtics were leading by 10..and I thought SWEET.that's just amazing.
I saw Ricky being on fire. He was all over the place. I was seriously thinking. WOW Ricky sure is DA MAN.
The Celtics were really really good and I heard people around me say. How come they don't play like this every night. And they were right. I saw a really good team there.

But then came the 3rd quarter and suddenly I started to get a little nervous.
Who did I see on that huge screen the whole time????
The mask man Hamilton. So many times I jumped up from that little leather couch and yelled. OH COME ON SOMEONE STOP THAT GUY!! HE IS JUST REDICILOUS.
Hamilton eventually started to slow down but then it was obviously time for Chauncey Billups to prove that he is DA MAN too.
I just couldn't believe it.
Withing a few minutes the Pistons took over the game.
I think they had a 11-2 run in the 4th quarter.
I was pissed and asked my friend Sam Adams to help me feel better. Well it didn't work so I ended up wondering
WHO IS THAT PRINCE GUY ANYWAYS...he was starting to get on my nerves too.

Well the end of this awefull story is. The Celtics played some good basketball in the 1st and 2nd quarter but then again they gave up the game. I hope eventually they will learn to keep up with teams like the Pistons for the entire game!

Ricky is still da man...and he sure was on fire last night..well at least for 2 quarter!!
I noticed that Billups gets this arrogant look on his face whenever he steps up to the free throw line GRRR I wanted to punch him so many times

My personal highlight of the game: I finally got one of those souvenir Celtics cups I meant to get for so long.

I missed the Anthem AGAIN!!!
Bob and I got to the Garden around 6:10 pm so again we were a little late.
We got there and he told me that he orignally had tickets for us too but since I asked him first he gave his tickets to his sister.
One would think...wow he is a nice guy and I did too UNTIL he showed me the seats
We would have been sitting right behind the basket ..,.second row on the floor..right HERE

but instead we were sitting all the way up on the balcony. So a couple of times I looked down at his sister and I cried a little bit..hahha

I still had a great time.
The crowd was by far the best and loudest so far.
The game started and everyone was cheering and clapping. People were having a great time.
Things got even better when the Celtics made one point after the other. They started the game with a 9 - 0 run and man I really started to enjoy myself. I ate my sour skittles and drank my beer.
The Celtics played an awesome game. A couple of times I was thinking WOW since when does Houston suck big time?
Seriously...Ming and Mc Grady didn't have a chance at all. Swift made a couple of good shots but man...the celtics were impressive really. Sometimes I wished the game would have been more closer but okay I don't even want to start complaining. So in the 4th quarter I was pretty sure that they had won this game already. So Bob and I started this huge discussion about who is the best Celtics player. Is it really Pierce? I really don't know who it is...Last night however it was definitely LaFrentz!!!

32 points and 7 three pointer!!! A personal record for him. Pretty good I have to admit and the crowd just loved him last night. Bob and I didn't really care. We were too busy analyzing the ceiling...why do you think they put those curtains there?

I am a little upset that I didn't at least once get to scream WOW after a move by Ming or McGrady. I was so looking forward to a little show seriously. And what did they do??? Well Ming was just being tall and McGrady just was around I guess. Nothing exciting happened. LAME LAME LAME!!

Are they trying to win a competition for worst half time show ever??? Last night was just redicilous. Magic Dave tried to impress the people by swallowing a loooong balloon which kind of looked like a banana. I mean come on...that was just nasty. There were kids in the audience. He then made jokes about people sitting in the cheap seats..almost 60 percent sit in the cheap seats so one should probably not joke about them. People didn't stop booing..it was funny!

So of course I did my best to get tickets. I so wanted to go to the game and I did it. I still don't know how I managed to get those tickets but well ..I did. So around 7 I met up with my buddy Leo and we walked over to the Garden.
Time Duncan had never lost to the Celtics before.
15 times in a row the Spurs beat the Celtics.
Deep down inside I was hoping that TONIGHT WOULD BE THE NIGHT.
Davis and Co would beat Duncan and Co. I was sure about it or at least I kept telling myself.
I actually managed to hear the National Anthem for the first time but I seriously can't remember who sang it. I was starring at Timmy Duncan himself the whole time. Man he looks different I thought. ( I am a girl after all ) He looked buff and man,...all that hair he had going on..on his head ..in his face...seems like Timmy is growing up now. BUT back to the game. The first quarter pretty much sucked. After a few minutes only the Spurs were leading by 16 already. I was still cheering though. Mostly to piss of my friend Leo though who was just a LAME ASS...he totally wasn't interested in the game and was actually talking on his phone the whole time.

The 2nd quarter however was exciting as HELL.
The Celtics managed to tie the game and I could feel it again..THIS IS THE NIGHT!!!
But well..I guess I was wrong. Maybe I should blame it on the Half time show. Men jumping up and down on trampolins???Oh come on. I would play shitty basketball after seeing something like that too.

So the 3rd quarter seemed to be a nightmare.

I can't even say the Celtics were playing bad. In fact some of the players did a good job really Dickau, LaFrentz and even Scalabrine. Pierce and Davis had an awesome second quarter but then they just couldn't find a way to beat those Spurs.
They are just amazing.

I was impressed. They are the NBA champions for a reason and MAN Tim looked HOT hahaha

Never ever take Leo to a Celtics game again. LAME! He even left early.
Moment the crowd screamed the most: when the cameras spotted Tom Brady ( New England patriots ) in the audience. Go figure

I totally refused to watch Basketball that night.
Why???

I was starting to worry a little bit.
Seriously I don't want a bunch of guys dribbling a ball take over my life.
I thought...ok tonight I just won't even think about the game or the Celtics in general.

So after work I went into my room ( no TV in there ) and I just read a book.

Around 7:29pm I get a text message from my friend Scott. That lucky bastard. He was sitting at the TD Banknorth Garden....grr..

"Coors Light and the Celtics. Life is good"
I have to admit I was a little jealous..but then I though...BAH..coors light SUCKS!!!!
Alright..Alright. It didn't really work. So a couple of minutes later I caught myself reading about the game on the celtics homepage.
I still however forced myself to be strong. DON'T DANA! Tonight is a basketball free night.

Yup that text message sure made me feel better and so I turned off the computer and went back to reading my book.

Alright. I do have to admit that I somehow missed that the Charlotte hornets obviously seem to be the Bobcats now. ( Shame on me )
But I do have an excuse I guess. In Germany it is sometimes kind of tough to keep up with the NBA ( time difference, never show it on tv and so on and so forth ) So I am glad I didn't talk to anyone about the Game using the name Hornets...PHEW! That would have been embarrassing.

I think it is tough to really focus on a game while sitting in a bar especially when you with someone who is actually fun to be with and you end up talking the whole time. It is even more difficult to watch the game when there are hundreds of college football fans around watching the football game. It is even more difficult if they are showing the game on only one screen and you have to lean over so much to see it that you almost fall off the chair.
Apparently I still got to see some parts of the game.

AGAIN they dragged this game into overtime. Which shouldn't have happened. I think the Celtics should have won this game in regulation but instead they only made seven of the final 37 shots, including just one basket in the final 10 minutes of the fourth quarter and overtime.
Unfortunately I was too busy complaining about the Budweiser Select I got for free to actually really watch the game.

They were leading the game by 12 at one point..NUFF SAID!!!
defense just sucks!

Note:
I think the name Charlotte Hornets was so much better
Budweiser Select is the worst beer ever. Don't ever drink it, not even if you get it for free.

Game number two.
I was still very excited after the opening night game against the Knicks.
I think I was actually thinking to myself...Alright this might be a good year for the Celtics..You never know.
Again the game was totally exciting.

I have to admit I was jumping up and down on the sofa when West passed the ball to Blount a few seconds before the end of the game. Blount with a jumper BANG makes the point.
People were going crazy. The TD Banknorth Garden was having a celebration already..and I have to admit I was too.

I mean come on ..with..how many seconds left?? maybe like 3 seconds left? I don't really remember right now..but anyways how in the name of lord can you let Hamilton make the shot??? I mean seriously HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT NO ONE IS FUCKING BLOCKING THE GUY WITH THE WEIRD GLASSES OR MASK OR WHATEVER???

So of course..Hamilton makes the point, the Celtics lose. TD Banknorth Garden goes from hysterical partying to complete silence. Same thing happened in my living room!!!

Opening Night Baby.
I definitely would have made it on time BUT Mr. Bob got lost and couldn't find the Garden. ( he has lived in Boston for years and asked me for direction?? hah ) So after a detour around Boston we finally got to the Garden around 7:25pm.

The game was fantastic.
Boston definitely should have won the game in regulation.
Why didn't they???
Hhhm..Pierce led all scorers at the half with 21 points and I seriously thought..WOW he is going for 40 at least. Well in the end he only managed to get 30 points. He pretty much sucked at the free throw line. They still dragged the game into overtime.
Boston scored 20 (!) in overtime and Mr. Ricky Davis himself scored 9.

How many times did I jump up and yelled DAMN RICKY!!!? : about 254 times.
Player who irritated me the most? :

Stephon Marbury. First of all because he reminded me of someone and I couldn't figure out who. Second because he is one sneaky little guy. He is just amazing!!
Besides that I was pretty annoyed by the group of Providence girls sitting in front of me. I am not even sure if they were allowed to drink alcohol yet but they still somehow managed to get totally wasted.
Even more annoying were the guys sitting behind me trying to hit on those drunk girls in front of me.

Thank god Ricky Davis was there to make up for all that. He definitely is my MVP of this game closely followed by West who definitely left an impression!!
